o believers, when you contract a debt for a fixed; term, you should put it in writing. let a scribe write with equity the document for the parties. the scribe whom allah has given the gift of literacy should not refuse to write. let him write and let the one under obligation (the debtor) dictate, and he should fear allah, his lord, and should not diminish from or add anything to the terms which have been settled. but if the borrower be of low understanding or weak or unable to dictate (for any reason), then let the guardian of his interests dictate it with equity. and let two men from among you bear witness to all such documents. but if two men be not available, there should be one man and two women to bear witness so that if one of the women forgets (anything), the other may remind her. the witnesses should be from among such people whom you approve of as witnesses. when the witnesses are asked to testify, they should not refuse to do so. do not neglect to reduce to writing your transaction for a specified term, whether it be big or small. allah considers this more just for you, for it facilitates the establishment of evidence and lessens doubts and suspicions. of course, there is no harm if you do not put in writing the common transactions you conclude daily on the spot, but in case of commercial transactions you should have witnesses. the scribe and the witnesses should not be harassed: if you do so, you shall be guilty of sin. you should guard against the wrath of allah; he gives you the knowledge of the right way for allah has the knowledge of everything.
ئه‌ی ئه‌وانه‌ی باوه‌ڕتان هێناوه ئه‌گه‌ر قه‌رزێکتان کرد له یه‌کتر تا ماوه‌یه‌کی دیاری کراو، ئه‌وه بینوسن و با نووسه‌رێک که دادپه‌روه‌ربێت به‌ڕاستی و دروستی له نێوانتاندا بینوسێت، با هیچ نوسه‌رێک سه‌رپێچی نه‌کات له نوسین، هه‌ر وه‌ک چۆن خوا فێری کردووه با بنووسێت، (خۆ ئه‌گه‌ر که‌سێک خوێنده‌وار نه‌بێت) ئه‌وه‌ی که حه‌قه‌که‌ی به‌سه‌ره‌وه‌یه و قه‌رزه‌که‌ی لایه با به‌ده‌می خۆی (ئه‌ندازه‌ی قه‌رزه‌که‌ی) به کاتبه‌که بڵێت و له خوای په‌روه‌ردگاری بترسێت و چاوپۆشی له هیچی نه‌کات و لێی که‌م نه‌کاته‌وه‌، خۆ ئه‌گه‌ر ئه‌وه‌ی قه‌رزه‌که‌ی له‌سه‌ره هه‌ڵه‌شه بوو، یا لاواز بوو (منداڵ یان به‌ساڵاچوو بوو) یا نه‌یده‌توانی دان به حه‌قه‌که‌دا بنێت (که‌ڕوڵاڵ بوو) با به‌خێوکه‌ر، یا سه‌رپه‌رشتیاره‌که‌ی دادگه‌رانه حه‌قیقه‌ت و ڕاستی قه‌رزه‌که‌ی بڵێت و با دوو پیاو له خۆتان شایه‌تی له‌سه‌ر (قه‌رزو مامه‌ڵه‌)بگرن، ئه‌گه‌ر دووپیاو ده‌ستنه‌که‌وتن بۆ شایه‌تی، با پیاوێک و دوو ئافره‌ت شایه‌تییه‌که بده‌ن له‌و که‌سانه‌ی که ڕازین به شایه‌تیدانیان، نه‌وه‌کو یه‌کێک له (ئافره‌ته‌کان) بیری بچێت، با ئه‌وی تریان بیری بهێنێته‌وه و شایه‌ته‌کان نابێت که کاتێک داواکران خۆ وێڵ بکه‌ن و ئاماده نه‌بن، بێزار مه‌بن له‌وه‌ی که (قه‌رز) بنووسن، که‌م بێت یان زۆر و تا ماوه‌ی دیاری کراوی، به ڕوونی با یاداشت بکرێت، ئه‌نجامدانی مه‌سه‌له‌ی قه‌رزتان به‌و شێوه دادپه‌روه‌رانه‌یه و په‌سه‌ندتره لای خوا (له نه‌نووسین)، ئه‌وسا چاکتر ده‌توانن شایه‌تی ڕاگرن و نزیکترن له‌وه‌ی گومان و دوودڵی به یه‌کتر نه‌به‌ن (مافی که‌س تیا نه‌چێت)، مه‌گه‌ر بازرگانیه‌ک بێت له‌به‌ر ده‌ستانداو له نێو خۆتاندا بیگێڕن و کڕین و فرۆشتن ئه‌نجام بده‌ن، ئه‌وه گوناهتان ناگات که ناینووسن، (چونکه ئاسان نیه‌و مامه‌ڵه دواده‌خات، هه‌تا بۆتان ده‌کرێت) شایه‌ت بگرن کاتێک کڕین و فرۆشتنتان ئه‌نجامدا و نابێت نووسه‌رو شایه‌ت ئازار بدرێن و بێزار بکرێن، خۆ ئه‌گه‌ر شتی وابکه‌ن ئه‌وه به‌ڕاستی مانای وایه ئێوه له چه‌نده‌ها فه‌رمانبه‌رداری ده‌رچوون، جا له خوا بترسن و خۆ پارێزبن و خوا فێری ئه‌و شتانه‌تان ده‌کات (که خێری تیایه بۆ دنیاو پاداشتی قیامه‌تی له دوایه‌) و خوا به هه‌موو شتێک زانایه‌.
