އަދި އޭގެކުރިން ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ نوح ގެފާނުގެ قوم ގެމީހުން ހަލާކުކުރެއްވީމެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، فاسق ވެގެންވާ ބަޔަކު ކަމުގައި އެއުރެންވޫއެވެ.

receiving what their lord has given them, for they had been virtuous aforetime.
އެއުރެންވަނީ، އެއުރެންގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެންނަށް ދެއްވި ثواب ލިބިލިބިއެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އޭގެކުރިން އެއުރެންވީ إحسان ތެރިން ކަމުގައެވެ.

but we sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;-
އަދި ހަމަކަށަވަރުން ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެންގެ ތެރެޔަށް إنذار ކުރައްވާ رسول ން ފޮނުއްވީމެވެ.

and the folk of noah aforetime, lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious;
އަދި އޭގެކުރިން نوح ގެފާނުގެ قوم ގެމީހުން ހަލާކުކުރެއްވިއެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެންވީ އަނިޔާވެރިކަންބޮޑު، އަދި އުރެދުންބޮޑު ބަޔަކު ކަމުގައެވެ.

and assuredly we vouchsafed un to lbrahim his rectitude aforetime, and him we had ever known.
އަދި ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، މީގެކުރިން إبراهيم ގެފާނަށް، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ހެޔޮ ވިސްނުމާއި، ބުއްދިވެރިކަން ދެއްވީމެވެ. އަދި އެކަލޭގެފާނާމެދު ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ މޮޅަށްދެނެވޮޑިގެންވަމެވެ.

they will say, ‘indeed, aforetime, we used to be apprehensive about our families.
އެއުރެން ބުނާނެތެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ކުރިން ތިމަންމެން، ތިމަންމެންގެ أهل ވެރިންގެ ތެރޭގައި އުޅުނުއިރު (اللَّه ގެ عذاب އަށް) ބިރުވެތިވެގެންވީމުއެވެ.

and assuredly we covenanted with adam aforetime, then he forgat, and we found not in him steadiness.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، މީގެކުރިން ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ آدم ގެފާނަށް وصيّة ކުރައްވައި، عهد ހިއްޕެވީމެވެ. ފަހެ، އެކަލޭގެފާނު (އެ عهد) ހަނދުމަނެތުނެވެ. އަދި އެކަލޭގެފާނުގެ ކިބައިން އެއްވެސް عزم އަކާއި، ثابت ކަމެއް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ދެކެވޮޑިއެއް ނުގަންނަވަމެވެ.

and also the people of nuh aforetime. verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious.
އަދި އޭގެކުރިން نوح ގެފާނުގެ قوم ގެމީހުން ހަލާކުކުރެއްވިއެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެންވީ އަނިޔާވެރިކަންބޮޑު، އަދި އުރެދުންބޮޑު ބަޔަކު ކަމުގައެވެ.

and nuh, when he cried aforetime, so we answered him, and delivered him and his followers from the great calamity.
އަދި އޭގެކުރިން، نوح ގެފާނު (ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ حضرة އަށް) دعاء ކުރެއްވިހިނދު، ހަނދުމަކުރާށެވެ! ފަހެ، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެކަލޭގެފާނަށް އިޖާބަދެއްވީމެވެ. އަދި ބޮޑުވެގެންވާނުރައްކަލުން އެކަލޭގެފާނާއި، އެކަލޭގެފާނުގެ أهل ވެރިން ސަލާމަތްކުރެއްވީމެވެ.

it is the law of allah which hath taken course aforetime. thou wilt not find for the law of allah aught of power to change.
(އެއީ) މީގެކުރިންވެސް اللَّه އެކަލާނގެ (އަޅުތަކުންނާމެދު) ކަންހިންގަވާފައިވާ ގޮތެވެ. އަދި اللَّه ކަންހިންގަވާގޮތަށް ބަދަލެއް އަންނާތީ ކަލޭގެފާނަކަށް ފެނިވަޑައެއް ނުގަންނަވާނެތެވެ.

aforetime they sought to cause sedition and raised difficulties for thee till the truth came and the decree of allah was made manifest, though they were loth.
ކުރިންވެސް އެއުރެން ފިތުނަވެރިކަމަށް އެދިގެން އުޅުނުކަން ކަށަވަރެވެ. އަދި اللَّه ގެ أمر ފުޅު ފާޅުވެ، حق ބަސްފުޅު އަތުވެއްޖައުމަށްދާނދެން، އެއުރެން (އެކަމަށް) ނުރުހޭ حال ގައި، ކަލޭގެފާނަށް ކެހިދިނުމުގެ ކަންތައް އެއުރެން ރާވައި އުޅުނޫއެވެ.

and a barrier is set between them and what they desire, as was done aforetime with their likes, who had remained in grave doubt?
އަދި އެއުރެން އެދޭކަންތަކާއި، އެއުރެންނާދެމެދު ހުރަސްއެޅުއްވިއެވެ. އެއުރެންނާ އެއްފަދަވެގެންވާ މީހުންނާމެދު، ކުރިން ކަންތައްކުރެއްވި ފަދައިންނެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެންވީ ވަސްވާސްތެރިކަމުން ފުރިގެންވާ شك އެއްގައެވެ.

'o zachariah, we give thee good tidings of a boy, whose name is john. no namesake have we given him aforetime.'
އޭ زكريّا ގެފާނެވެ! ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ފިރިހެންދަރިޔަކު ލިބޭނެކަމުގެ އުފާވެރި خبر ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ، ކަލޭގެފާނަށް ދެއްވަމެވެ. އޭނާގެ ނަމަކީ، يحيى އެވެ. މީގެކުރިން އޭނާގެ ނަމުން ނަންކިޔޭ މީހަކު ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ނުލައްވަމެވެ.

(އެއީ) މީސްތަކުންނަށްހުރި هداية އެކެވެ. އަދި، އެކަލާނގެ، حق އާއި باطل ވަކިކުރަނިވި ފޮތް (އެބަހީ: قرآن) ބާވައިލެއްވިއެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، اللَّه ގެ آية ތަކަށް كافر ވި މީހުންނަށް ގަދަވެގެންވާ عذاب ހުށްޓެވެ. اللَّه އީ، ބަދަލު ހިއްޕެވުމުގެ ވެރި، ގަދަފަދަވަންތަ ރަސްކަލާނގެއެވެ.

has not the story reached you, of those who rejected faith aforetime? so they tasted the evil result of their conduct; and they had a grievous penalty.
މީގެކުރިން كافر ވިމީހުންގެ خبر، ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނާ ހަމަޔަކަށް ނާދޭހެއްޔެވެ؟ ފަހެ، އެއުރެންކުޅަ ކަންތަކުގެ ނުބައި ނަތީޖާގެ ރަހަ، އެއުރެން ލިބިގަތޫއެވެ. އަދި އެއުރެންނަށް ވޭންދެނިވި عذاب ހުށްޓެވެ.

and we had aforetime forbidden foster-mothers for him; so she said: shall direct you unto a household who will rear him for you and who will be unto him good counsellors.
އަދި އޭގެކުރިން ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެކަލޭގެފާނަށް (އެކަލޭގެފާނުގެ މައިކަމަނާ މެނުވީ) އެހެން ކިރުމައިން حرام ކުރެއްވީމެވެ. ދެން އެކަލޭގެފާނުގެ أخت ބުންޏެވެ. ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށްޓަކައި، އޭނާ ބަލަހައްޓައިދޭނެ ގެއެއްގެ أهل ވެރިން ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ތިމަން ދައްކަންހެއްޔެވެ؟ އަދި އެއުރެން އޭނާ ރަނގަޅަށް ބަލަހައްޓާނެތެވެ.
