and we delivered those who believed and were wont to avoid disobeying (allah).
އަދި إيمان ވެ تقوى ވެރިކަންމަތީ އުޅުނުމީހުން، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ސަލާމަތްކުރެއްވީމެވެ.

to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying god).
ކަލޭގެފާނުގެ ހިތްޕުޅުގެ މައްޗަށް އެ قرآن އާއިގެން ފައިބައިވަޑައިގަތީ، جبريل ގެފާނެވެ. އެއީ (މީސްތަކުންނަށް) إنذار ކުރައްވާ ބޭކަލުންގެ ތެރެއިން ކަލޭގެފާނު ވެވަޑައިގަތުމަށެވެ.

say, "i am afraid that for disobeying my lord i shall suffer the torment of the great day".
ކަލޭގެފާނު ވިދާޅުވާށެވެ! އަހުރެންގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާނގެއަށް އަހުރެން އުރެދިއްޖެނަމަ، ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ ދުވަހެއްގެ عذاب އަށް ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އަހުރެން ބިރުގަންނަމެވެ.

and partake of the lawful, good things which allah has provided you as sustenance, and refrain from disobeying allah in whom you believe.
އަދި اللَّه، ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ދެއްވި ތަކެތީގެ ތެރެއިން، حلال ރަނގަޅު ތަކެތި ކައިއުޅޭށެވެ! އަދި ތިޔަބައިމީހުން، އެކަލާނގެއަށް إيمان ވެގެންތިބި اللَّه އަށް، ތިޔަބައިމީހުން تقوى ވެރިވާށެވެ!

as for him who gave out his wealth (for allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying him),
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެންގެ عمل ތައް ތަފާތުވެގެންވާކަން ކަށަވަރެވެ.

and when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, we saved those who had forbidden evil and seized those who wronged, with a wretched punishment, because they were defiantly disobeying.
ފަހެ، އެއުރެންނަށް ހަނދުމަކޮށްދެއްވި ކަންތައް އެއުރެން ހަނދާންނައްތައިލި ހިނދު، ނުބައިކަންތައް ނަހީކޮށް އުޅޭމީހުން، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ މިންޖުކުރެއްވީމެވެ. އަދި ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ގަދަފަދަވެގެންވާ عذاب އަކުން އަނިޔާވެރިވީ މީހުން ހިއްޕެވީމެވެ. (އެއީ) އެއުރެން فاسق ވެ އުޅުނުކަމަށްޓަކައެވެ.

but those who wronged changed [those words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them, so we sent down upon those who wronged a punishment from the sky because they were defiantly disobeying.
ދެން (އޭގެތެރެއިން) އަނިޔާވެރިވި މީހުން، އެއުރެންނަށް ކިޔާށޭ އެންގެވި ބަސް އެނޫން ބަހަކަށް ބަދަލުކޮށްފޫއެވެ. ދެން އެ އަނިޔާވެރިވި މީހުންގެ މައްޗަށް، އެއުރެން فاسق ވި ކަމުގެ ސަބަބުން، އުޑުން عذاب އެއް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ބާވައިލެއްވީމެވެ.

(do you call it "evil omen") because you are admonished? nay, but you are a people musrifun (transgressing all bounds by committing all kinds of great sins, and by disobeying allah).
އެބޭކަލުން ވިދާޅުވޫއެެވެ. ތިޔަބައިމީހުންގެ ސުންޕާކަންވަނީ ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނާ އެކުގައެވެ. ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް (حق ގޮތް) ހަނދާންކޮށްދެވުނަސް (އެއީ، ސުންޕާކަމެއް ކަމުގައި ބަލަނީ) ހެއްޔެވެ؟ އަދި ކިއެއްތަ! ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނީ (كافر ކަމުގައި) ހައްދުފަހަނަޅައިފައިވާ ބަޔެކެވެ.
