بیشک جن لوگوں نے مسلمان مردوں اور عورتوں کو ستایا پھر توبہ (بھی) نہ کی تو ان کے لئے جہنم کا عذاب ہے اور جلنے کا عذاب ہے

but none believed in moses except some children of his people, for fear that pharaoh and his chiefs would persecute them. pharaoh was high and mighty in the land. he was a tyrant.
(پھر دیکھو کہ) موسیٰؑ کو اس کی قوم میں سے چند نوجوانوں کے سوا کسی نے نہ مانا، فرعون کے ڈر سے اور خود اپنی قوم کے سر بر آوردہ لوگوں کے ڈر سے (جنہیں خوف تھا کہ) فرعون ان کو عذاب میں مبتلا کرے گا اور واقعہ یہ ہے کہ فرعون زمین میں غلبہ رکھتا تھا اور وہ اُن لوگوں میں سے تھا جو کسی حد پر رکتے نہیں ہیں

those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning.
بیشک جن لوگوں نے مسلمان مردوں اور عورتوں کو ستایا پھر توبہ (بھی) نہ کی تو ان کے لئے جہنم کا عذاب ہے اور جلنے کا عذاب ہے

none but a few youths of moses' people accepted him, fearing that pharaoh and their own chiefs would persecute them. indeed pharaoh was mighty in the land, he was among those who exceed all limits.
(پھر دیکھو کہ) موسیٰؑ کو اس کی قوم میں سے چند نوجوانوں کے سوا کسی نے نہ مانا، فرعون کے ڈر سے اور خود اپنی قوم کے سر بر آوردہ لوگوں کے ڈر سے (جنہیں خوف تھا کہ) فرعون ان کو عذاب میں مبتلا کرے گا اور واقعہ یہ ہے کہ فرعون زمین میں غلبہ رکھتا تھا اور وہ اُن لوگوں میں سے تھا جو کسی حد پر رکتے نہیں ہیں

and (remember) when moses said unto his people: o my people! why persecute ye me, when ye well know that i am allah's messenger unto you? so when they went astray allah sent their hearts astray. and allah guideth not the evil-living folk.
اور (اے حبیب! وہ وقت یاد کیجئے) جب موسٰی (علیہ السلام) نے اپنی قوم سے کہا: اے میری قوم! تم مجھے اذیت کیوں دیتے ہو حالانکہ تم جانتے ہو کہ میں تمہاری طرف اللہ کا بھیجا ہوا (رسول) ہوں۔ پھر جب انہوں نے کج روی جاری رکھی تو اللہ نے اُن کے دلوں کو ٹیڑھا کر دیا، اور اللہ نافرمان لوگوں کو ہدایت نہیں فرماتا،
