coming out of the palais-royal we left the rue de rivoli and went to the rue st. honore.

but the rain has become stronger and we have had to return back on the left bank of seine, along the rue st. honore and then to the left in the rue royale, across the place de la concorde.

the hotel is a real find. the rooms are very neat, clean and large, and of good quality. the beds are very comfy, and when i took my wife we had a double with a bed the size of a car park. the bathrooms are nice, soundproofing a bit short, but those paris garbage trucks are very loud. i work in paris most weeks and have done so for 6 months, so tried many hotels. i have stayed at this one three times now, in 4 weeks, and i have it on my (short) list of regulars. the reception is friendly and helpful, it's right by tuilleries metro and virtually next door to the louvre, but on a side street between rue rivoli and rue st. honore, so quiet, but about as central as it's possible to be. i don't eat breakfast, but it looks good. in-room wifi is expensive, but that's true of many paris hotels. given that it's essentially free to provide, i think that's a rip-off, so i try to use hotels with free wifi. i can't think of anything else negative to say, except that the shower head was a bit squirty.
