destruction and misery are in their ways:
ܫܚܩܐ ܘܕܘܘܢܐ ܒܐܘܪܚܬܗܘܢ

who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the lord, and from the glory of his power;
ܕܗܢܘܢ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܢܬܦܪܥܘܢ ܐܒܕܢܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܡܢ ܦܪܨܘܦܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܘܡܢ ܫܘܒܚܐ ܕܚܝܠܗ

to deliver such an one unto satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the lord jesus.
ܘܬܫܠܡܘܢܗ ܠܗܢܐ ܠܤܛܢܐ ܠܐܒܕܢܐ ܕܦܓܪܗ ܕܒܪܘܚ ܢܚܐ ܒܝܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ

but they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

ܐܢ ܕܝܢ ܨܒܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܢܚܘܐ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܘܢܘܕܥ ܚܝܠܗ ܐܝܬܝ ܒܤܘܓܐܐ ܕܡܓܪܬ ܪܘܚܗ ܪܘܓܙܐ ܥܠ ܡܐܢܐ ܕܪܘܓܙܐ ܕܓܡܝܪܝܢ ܠܐܒܕܢܐ

for though i should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, i should not be ashamed:
ܐܢ ܓܝܪ ܐܦ ܡܕܡ ܝܬܝܪ ܐܫܬܒܗܪ ܥܠ ܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܕܝܗܒ ܠܝ ܡܪܢ ܠܐ ܒܗܬ ܐܢܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܒܢܝܢܐ ܗܘ ܕܝܠܟܘܢ ܝܗܒ ܠܢ ܘܠܐ ܠܤܘܚܦܟܘܢ

therefore i write these things being absent, lest being present i should use sharpness, according to the power which the lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.
ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܟܕ ܪܚܝܩ ܐܢܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܟܬܒ ܐܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܐ ܕܐܬܝܬ ܩܫܝܐܝܬ ܐܤܥܘܪ ܐܝܟ ܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܕܝܗܒ ܠܝ ܡܪܝ ܠܒܢܝܢܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܠܤܘܚܦܟܘܢ

enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
ܥܘܠܘ ܒܬܪܥܐ ܐܠܝܨܐ ܕܦܬܐ ܗܘ ܬܪܥܐ ܘܐܪܘܝܚܐ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܡܘܒܠܐ ܠܐܒܕܢܐ ܘܤܓܝܐܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܙܠܝܢ ܒܗ

but there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
ܗܘܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܦ ܢܒܝܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܒܥܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܦ ܒܟܘܢ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܡܠܦܢܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܥܠܝܢ ܗܪܤܝܤ ܕܐܒܕܢܐ ܘܒܡܪܐ ܕܙܒܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܟܦܪܝܢ ܟܕ ܡܝܬܝܢ ܥܠ ܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܐܒܕܢܐ ܡܤܪܗܒܐ

as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
