ܚܕܘܬܐ ܓܝܪ ܤܓܝܐܬܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܢ ܘܒܘܝܐܐ ܕܒܝܕ ܚܘܒܟ ܐܬܬܢܝܚܘ ܪܚܡܐ ܕܩܕܝܫܐ

and our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

ܐܢ ܐܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܗܟܝܠ ܒܘܝܐܐ ܒܡܫܝܚܐ ܘܐܢ ܡܡܠܐ ܒܠܒܐ ܒܚܘܒܐ ܘܐܢ ܫܘܬܦܘܬܐ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܘܐܢ ܪܘܚܦܐ ܘܪܚܡܐ

now our lord jesus christ himself, and god, even our father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܘܐܠܗܐ ܐܒܘܢ ܗܘ ܕܐܚܒܢ ܘܝܗܒ ܠܢ ܒܘܝܐܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܘܤܒܪܐ ܛܒܐ ܒܛܝܒܘܬܗ

that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for god to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

and not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that i rejoiced the more.
