tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
ܐܡܪܘ ܠܝ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܨܒܝܢ ܕܢܗܘܘܢ ܬܚܝܬ ܢܡܘܤܐ ܠܗ ܠܢܡܘܤܐ ܠܐ ܫܡܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ

and the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them.
ܘܩܥܘ ܥܡܐ ܘܫܪܝܘ ܠܡܫܐܠ ܐܝܟ ܕܡܥܕ ܗܘܐ ܥܒܕ ܠܗܘܢ

as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
ܘܗܘܘ ܐܝܟ ܝܠܘܕܐ ܫܒܪܐ ܘܐܬܪܓܪܓܘ ܠܗ ܠܡܠܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܠܚܠܒܐ ܢܩܕܐ ܘܪܘܚܢܐ ܕܒܗ ܬܬܪܒܘܢ ܠܚܝܐ

and he said unto them, with desire i have desired to eat this passover with you before i suffer:
ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܪܓܬܐ ܪܓܬܢܝ ܕܗܢܐ ܦܨܚܐ ܐܟܘܠ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܩܕܡ ܕܐܚܫ

brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to god for israel is, that they might be saved.
ܐܚܝ ܨܒܝܢܐ ܕܠܒܝ ܘܒܥܘܬܝ ܕܠܘܬ ܐܠܗܐ ܚܠܦܝܗܘܢ ܕܢܚܘܢ

for neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
ܐܦܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܗܢܘܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܕܓܙܪܝܢ ܢܛܪܝܢ ܢܡܘܤܐ ܐܠܐ ܨܒܝܢ ܕܬܬܓܙܪܘܢ ܕܒܒܤܪܟܘܢ ܕܝܠܟܘܢ ܢܫܬܒܗܪܘܢ

but we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.
ܨܒܝܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܢܫܡܥ ܡܢܟ ܡܕܡ ܕܡܬܪܥܐ ܐܢܬ ܡܛܠ ܕܝܘܠܦܢܐ ܗܢܐ ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܕܥܠ ܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܡܩܒܠ

and he said unto the disciples, the days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the son of man, and ye shall not see it.
ܘܐܡܪ ܠܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܢܐܬܘܢ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܕܬܬܪܓܪܓܘܢ ܠܡܚܙܐ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܕܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܚܙܘܢ

and he said, the jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down paul to morrow into the council, as though they would inquire somewhat of him more perfectly.

ܘܩܪܒܘ ܠܘܬܗ ܝܥܩܘܒ ܘܝܘܚܢܢ ܒܢܝ ܙܒܕܝ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܡܠܦܢܐ ܨܒܝܢ ܚܢܢ ܕܟܠ ܕܢܫܐܠ ܬܥܒܕ ܠܢ

and he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, if any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
ܘܝܬܒ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܩܪܐ ܠܬܪܥܤܪ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܕܨܒܐ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܐܚܪܝܐ ܕܟܠ ܐܢܫ ܘܡܫܡܫܢܐ ܕܟܠ ܐܢܫ

beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
ܐܙܕܗܪܘ ܡܢ ܤܦܪܐ ܕܨܒܝܢ ܠܡܗܠܟܘ ܒܐܤܛܠܐ ܘܪܚܡܝܢ ܫܠܡܐ ܒܫܘܩܐ ܘܪܝܫ ܡܘܬܒܐ ܒܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܘܪܝܫ ܤܡܟܐ ܒܐܚܫܡܝܬܐ

ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
ܡܬܪܓܪܓܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܠܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܘܩܛܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܛܢܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܐܬܝܐ ܒܐܝܕܝܟܘܢ ܘܢܨܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܩܪܒܐ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܠܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܫܐܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ

and not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that i rejoiced the more.
ܘܠܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܒܡܐܬܝܬܗ ܐܠܐ ܐܦ ܒܢܝܚܗ ܗܘ ܕܐܬܢܝܚ ܒܟܘܢ ܤܒܪܢ ܓܝܪ ܥܠ ܚܘܒܟܘܢ ܕܠܘܬܢ ܘܥܠ ܐܒܠܟܘܢ ܘܛܢܢܟܘܢ ܕܥܠ ܐܦܝܢ ܘܟܕ ܫܡܥܬ ܚܕܘܬܐ ܤܓܝܐܬܐ ܗܘܬ ܠܝ

among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
ܒܗܢܘܢ ܥܒܕܐ ܕܐܦ ܚܢܢ ܐܬܗܦܟܢ ܒܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܝܡ ܒܪܓܝܓܬܐ ܕܒܤܪܢ ܘܥܒܕܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܨܒܝܢܐ ܕܒܤܪܢ ܘܕܬܪܥܝܬܢ ܘܒܢܝܐ ܗܘܝܢ ܕܪܘܓܙܐ ܡܠܝܐܝܬ ܐܝܟ ܫܪܟܐ
