i came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
ܠܐ ܐܬܝܬ ܕܐܩܪܐ ܠܙܕܝܩܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܚܛܝܐ ܠܬܝܒܘܬܐ

as it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one:
ܐܝܟ ܕܟܬܝܒ ܕܠܝܬ ܟܐܢܐ ܐܦܠܐ ܚܕ

and these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
ܗܝܕܝܢ ܢܥܢܐ ܘܢܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܟܡܐ ܕܠܐ ܥܒܕܬܘܢ ܠܚܕ ܡܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܙܥܘܪܐ ܐܦ ܠܐ ܠܝ ܥܒܕܬܘܢ

if ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
ܐܢ ܝܕܥܬܘܢ ܕܙܕܝܩ ܗܘ ܕܥܘ ܕܐܦ ܟܠ ܕܥܒܕ ܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܡܢܗ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ

and if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
ܘܐܢ ܙܕܝܩܐ ܠܡܚܤܢ ܚܝܐ ܪܫܝܥܐ ܘܚܛܝܐ ܐܝܟܐ ܡܫܬܟܚ

for scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
ܠܡܚܤܢ ܓܝܪ ܐܢܫ ܚܠܦ ܪܫܝܥܐ ܡܐܬ ܚܠܦ ܛܒܐ ܓܝܪ ܛܟ ܡܡܪܚ ܐܢܫ ܠܡܡܬ

and he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
ܘܐܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܡܬܠܐ ܗܢܐ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܐܢܫܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܬܟܝܠܝܢ ܥܠ ܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܕܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܙܕܝܩܐ ܘܒܤܝܢ ܥܠ ܟܠܢܫ

and i heard another out of the altar say, even so, lord god almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
ܘܫܡܥܬ ܠܡܕܒܚܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܐܝܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܚܝܕ ܟܠ ܫܪܝܪܝܢ ܘܙܕܝܩܝܢ ܕܝܢܝܟ

but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of god;
ܐܠܐ ܡܛܠ ܩܫܝܘܬ ܠܒܟ ܕܠܐ ܬܐܒ ܤܐܡ ܐܢܬ ܠܟ ܤܝܡܬܐ ܕܪܘܓܙܐ ܠܝܘܡܐ ܕܪܘܓܙܐ ܘܠܓܠܝܢܐ ܕܕܝܢܐ ܟܐܢܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ

confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܘܕܝܢ ܤܟܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܘܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܡܨܠܝܢ ܚܕ ܥܠ ܚܕ ܕܬܬܐܤܘܢ ܪܒ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܚܝܠܗ ܕܨܠܘܬܐ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܙܕܝܩܐ ܡܨܠܐ ܠܗ

which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of god, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of god, for which ye also suffer:
ܠܬܚܘܝܬܐ ܕܕܝܢܐ ܟܐܢܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܬܫܘܘܢ ܠܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܗܝ ܕܥܠ ܐܦܝܗ ܚܫܝܬܘܢ

(for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
ܒܚܙܬܐ ܓܝܪ ܘܒܫܡܥܐ ܟܕ ܥܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܟܐܢܐ ܗܘ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ ܝܘܡ ܡܢ ܝܘܡ ܠܢܦܫܗ ܙܕܝܩܬܐ ܒܥܒܕܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܡܘܤ ܡܫܢܩ ܗܘܐ

and i heard the angel of the waters say, thou art righteous, o lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.
ܘܫܡܥܬ ܠܡܠܐܟܐ ܕܡܝܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܙܕܝܩ ܐܢܬ ܗܘ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܘܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܘܚܤܝܐ ܕܗܠܝܢ ܕܢܬ

by faith abel offered unto god a more excellent sacrifice than cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, god testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

for verily i say unto you, that many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
ܐܡܝܢ ܓܝܪ ܐܡܪܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܤܓܝܐܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܘܙܕܝܩܐ ܐܬܪܓܪܓܘ ܕܢܚܙܘܢ ܡܕܡ ܕܚܙܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܚܙܘ ܘܠܡܫܡܥ ܡܕܡ ܕܫܡܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܘ

henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
ܘܡܢ ܗܫܐ ܢܛܝܪ ܠܝ ܟܠܝܠܐ ܕܟܐܢܘܬܐ ܕܢܦܪܥܝܘܗܝ ܠܝ ܡܪܝ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܕܗܘܝܘ ܕܝܢܐ ܟܐܢܐ ܠܐ ܕܝܢ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܠܝ ܐܠܐ ܐܦ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܚܒܘ ܠܓܠܝܢܗ

he that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
ܘܕܡܥܘܠ ܬܘܒ ܢܥܘܠ ܘܕܨܥ ܬܘܒ ܢܨܛܥܨܥ ܘܙܕܝܩܐ ܬܘܒ ܢܥܒܕ ܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܘܩܕܝܫܐ ܬܘܒ ܢܬܩܕܫ
