நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொண்டே உண்மையைப் பொய்யுடன் கலக்காதீர்கள்; உண்மையை மறைக்கவும் செய்யாதீர்கள்.

he only commands you to evil and indecency, and that you should speak against god such things as you know not.
நிச்சயமாக அவன் தீயவற்றையும், மானக்கேடானவற்றையும் செய்யும்படியும் அல்லாஹ்வைப் பற்றி நீங்கள் அறியாததைக் கூறும்படியும் உங்களை ஏவுகிறான்.

when you said to the believers, “is it not enough for you that your lord has reinforced you with three thousand angels, sent down?”
(நபியே!) முஃமின்களிடம் நீர் கூறினீர்; "உங்கள் ரப்பு (வானிலிருந்து) இறக்கப்பட்ட மூவாயிரம் வானவர்களைக் கொண்டு உங்களுக்கு உதவி செய்வது உங்களுக்குப் போதாதா?" என்று.

when thou saidst to the believers, 'is it not enough for you that your lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down upon you?
(நபியே!) முஃமின்களிடம் நீர் கூறினீர்; "உங்கள் ரப்பு (வானிலிருந்து) இறக்கப்பட்ட மூவாயிரம் வானவர்களைக் கொண்டு உங்களுக்கு உதவி செய்வது உங்களுக்குப் போதாதா?" என்று.

and there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not.
அன்றியும், அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டு இருந்தவர்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக மற்றொரு வேதனையும் (இம்மையில்) உண்டு எனினும் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் இதை அறிய மாட்டார்கள்.

and do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know [it].
நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொண்டே உண்மையைப் பொய்யுடன் கலக்காதீர்கள்; உண்மையை மறைக்கவும் செய்யாதீர்கள்.

also, remember when you said to the believers, "is it not enough that your lord is helping you with a force of three thousand angels sent (from the heavens)?"
(நபியே!) முஃமின்களிடம் நீர் கூறினீர்; "உங்கள் ரப்பு (வானிலிருந்து) இறக்கப்பட்ட மூவாயிரம் வானவர்களைக் கொண்டு உங்களுக்கு உதவி செய்வது உங்களுக்குப் போதாதா?" என்று.

is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the israelites know it?
இன்னும், நாம் இதனை அரபி (மொழி) அல்லாதவர்களில் ஒருவர் மீது இறக்கி வைத்திருப்போமாயின்;

and is it not enough for them that we have sent down to thee the book which is rehearsed to them? verily, in it is mercy and a reminder to those who believe.
அவர்களுக்கு ஓதிக்காட்டப்படும் இவ்வேதத்தை நாம் உம் மீது இறக்கியிருக்கிறோம் என்பது அவர்களுக்குப் போதாதா? நிச்சயமாக அ(வ் வேதத்)தில் ரஹ்மத்தும், ஈமான் கொண்ட சமூகத்தாருக்கு (நினைவூட்டும்) நல்லுபதேசமும் இருக்கின்றன.

is it not enough for them that we have sent down unto thee the scripture which is read unto them? lo! herein verily is mercy, and a reminder for folk who believe.
அவர்களுக்கு ஓதிக்காட்டப்படும் இவ்வேதத்தை நாம் உம் மீது இறக்கியிருக்கிறோம் என்பது அவர்களுக்குப் போதாதா? நிச்சயமாக அ(வ் வேதத்)தில் ரஹ்மத்தும், ஈமான் கொண்ட சமூகத்தாருக்கு (நினைவூட்டும்) நல்லுபதேசமும் இருக்கின்றன.

o people of the book! why do you mix the truth with falsehood, and conceal the truth while you know [it]?
வேதத்தையுடையோரே! சத்தியத்தை அசத்தியத்துடன் ஏன் நீங்கள் கலக்குகிறீர்கள்? இன்னும் நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொண்டே ஏன் உண்மையை மறைக்கிறீர்கள்?

remember thou saidst to the faithful: "is it not enough for you that allah should help you with three thousand angels (specially) sent down?
(நபியே!) முஃமின்களிடம் நீர் கூறினீர்; "உங்கள் ரப்பு (வானிலிருந்து) இறக்கப்பட்ட மூவாயிரம் வானவர்களைக் கொண்டு உங்களுக்கு உதவி செய்வது உங்களுக்குப் போதாதா?" என்று.

behold, you are those who have disputed greatly concerning matters which you knew; why are you now disputing about matters that you know nothing about? allah knows it whereas you do not know.
உங்களுக்குச் சிறிது ஞானம் இருந்த விஷயங்களில் (இதுவரை) நீங்கள் தர்க்கம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தீர்கள்; (அப்படியிருக்க) உங்களுக்குச் சிறிதுகூட ஞானம் இல்லாத விஷயங்களில் ஏன் விவாதம் செய்ய முற்படுகிறீர்கள்? அல்லாஹ்தான் அறிவான்; நீங்கள் அறியமாட்டீர்கள்.

say: 'my lord has only forbidden indecencies, the inward and the outward, and sin, and unjust insolence, and that you associate with god that for which he sent down never authority, and that you say concerning god such as you know not.
"என் இறைவன் ஹராம் எனத் தடுத்திருப்பவையெல்லாம், வெளிப்படையான அல்லது அந்தரங்கமான, மானக்கேடான செயல்கள், பாவங்கள்;, நியாயமின்றி (ஒருவருக்கொருவர்) கொடுமை செய்வது ஆதாரமில்லாமலிருக்கும் போதே நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு இணைகற்பித்தல், நீங்கள் அறியாவற்றை அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது (பொய்யாகக்) கூறுவது (ஆகிய இவையே என்று நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக.

(remember) lot, when he said to his people: "why do you indulge in obscenities when you know (it is evil)?
லூத்தையும் (நினைவு கூர்வீராக!) அவர் தம் சமூகத்தாரிடம்; "நீங்கள் பார்த்துக் கொண்டே மானக்கேடான செயலைச் செய்கின்றீர்களா?" என்று கூறினார்.

people ask you concerning the hour, say: "the knowledge of it is with allah only. what do you know? it may be that the hour is near!"
(நியாயத் தீர்ப்புக்குரிய) அவ்வேளையை பற்றி மக்கள் உம்மைக் கேட்கின்றனர்; "அதைப் பற்றிய ஞானம் அல்லாஹ்விடமே இருக்கிறது" என்று நீர் கூறுவீராக அதை நீர் அறிவீரா? அது சமீபத்திலும் வந்து விடலாம்.

so set thy face to the religion, a man of pure faith -- god's original upon which he originated mankind. there is no changing god's creation. that is the right religion; but most men know it not --
ஆகவே, நீர் உம்முகத்தை தூய (இஸ்லாமிய) மார்க்கத்தின் பக்கமே முற்றிலும் திருப்பி நிலைநிறுத்துவீராக! எ(ந்த மார்க்கத்)தில் அல்லாஹ் மனிதர்களைப் படைத்தானோ அதுவே அவனுடைய (நிலையான) இயற்கை மார்க்கமாகும்; அல்லாஹ்வின் படைத்தலில் மாற்றம் இல்லை அதுவே நிலையான மார்க்கமாகும். ஆனால் மனிதரில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இதை) அறியமாட்டார்கள்.
