and you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether,

and you eat away the heritage, devouring (everything) indiscriminately,

you will see many of them hastening towards sin and transgression and devouring unlawful earnings. indeed what they do is evil.
அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் பாவத்திலும், அக்கிரமத்திலும் விலக்கப்பட்ட பொருள்களை உண்பதிலும் விரைந்து செயல் படுவதை (நபியே!) நீர் காண்பீர். அவர்கள் செய்வதெல்லாம் தீமையேதாம்.

and thou seest many of them vying one with another in sin and transgression and their devouring of illicit gain. verily evil is what they do.
அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் பாவத்திலும், அக்கிரமத்திலும் விலக்கப்பட்ட பொருள்களை உண்பதிலும் விரைந்து செயல் படுவதை (நபியே!) நீர் காண்பீர். அவர்கள் செய்வதெல்லாம் தீமையேதாம்.

why is it that their scholars and jurists do not forbid them from sinful utterances and devouring unlawful earnings? indeed they have been contriving evil.
அவர்கள் பாவமான வார்த்தைகளைக் கூறுவதிலிருந்தும், விலக்கப்பட்ட பொருள்களை அவர்கள் உண்பதிலிருந்தும், (அவர்களுடைய) மேதைகளும் குருமார்களும் அவர்ளைத் தடுத்திருக்க வேண்டாமா? இவர்கள் செய்வதெல்லாம் தீமையேதாம்.

and thou shalt see many of them hastening toward sin and transgression and their devouring of the forbidden. vile indeed is that which they have been doing!
அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் பாவத்திலும், அக்கிரமத்திலும் விலக்கப்பட்ட பொருள்களை உண்பதிலும் விரைந்து செயல் படுவதை (நபியே!) நீர் காண்பீர். அவர்கள் செய்வதெல்லாம் தீமையேதாம்.

and their taking usury though indeed they were forbidden it and their devouring the property of people falsely, and we have prepared for the unbelievers from among them a painful chastisement.
வட்டி வாங்குவது அவர்களுக்குத் தடை செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தும், அவர்கள் அதை வாங்கி வந்ததன் (காரணமாகவும்,) தவறான முறையில் அவர்கள் மக்களின் சொத்துகளை விழுங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்ததன் (காரணமாகவும், இவ்வாறு தண்டனை வழங்கினோம்), இவர்களில் காஃபிரானோருக்கு (மறுமையில்) நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனையையும் நாம் சித்தப்படுத்தியுள்ளோம்.

wherefore is it that the divines and priests forbid them not of their speaking of sin and their devouring of the forbidden? vile indeed is that which they have been performing!
அவர்கள் பாவமான வார்த்தைகளைக் கூறுவதிலிருந்தும், விலக்கப்பட்ட பொருள்களை அவர்கள் உண்பதிலிருந்தும், (அவர்களுடைய) மேதைகளும் குருமார்களும் அவர்ளைத் தடுத்திருக்க வேண்டாமா? இவர்கள் செய்வதெல்லாம் தீமையேதாம்.

and also because of their taking usury whereas they were prohibited therefrom, and also because of their devouring the riches of men unlawfully. and for the infidels among them we have gotten ready a torment afflictive.

and of their taking usury when they were forbidden it, and of their devouring people's wealth by false pretences, we have prepared for those of them who disbelieve a painful doom.

(சிறையில் யூஸுஃபை கண்ட) அவர், "யூஸுஃபே! உண்மையாளரே! ஏழு கொழுத்த பசக்களை, ஏழு மெலிந்த பசக்கள் தின்பதையும்; பசுமையான ஏழு கதிர்களையும் வேறு (ஏழு) காய்ந்து (சாவியாகிவிட்ட) கதிர்களையும் (கனவில் கண்டால் அக்கனவுக்குப் பலன் என்ன என்பதை) எனக்கு அறிவிப்பீராக மக்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வதற்காக அவர்களிடம் திரும்பிப் போய்(ச் சொல்ல) வேண்டியிருக்கிறது" (என்று கூறினார்).
