before them erred most of the ancients,
இன்னும், இவர்களுக்கு முன்னரும் அப்பண்டைய மக்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் வழி கெட்டிருந்தனர்.

[it is] the promise of allah. allah does not fail in his promise, but most of the people do not know.
இது அல்லாஹ்வின் வாக்குறுதியாகும்; அல்லாஹ் தன் வாக்குறுதியில் தவறமாட்டான். ஆனால், மனிதரில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இதை) அறியமாட்டார்கள்.

and indeed, your lord is full of bounty for the people, but most of them do not show gratitude."
இன்னும் நிச்சயமாக உம் இறைவன் மனிதர்கள் மீது மிக்க கிருபையுடையவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்; ஆனால் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் நன்றி செலுத்துவதில்லை.

lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers!
நிச்சயமாக இதிலே ஓர் அத்தாட்சி இருக்கிறது - எனினும் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் நம்பிக்கை கொள்வதில்லை.

and we have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded, but most of the people refuse except disbelief.
அவர்கள் படிப்பினை பெறுவதற்காக அவர்களுக்கு இதனை (குர்ஆனை) நாம் தெளிவு படுத்துகிறோம். மனிதர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் நிராகரிப்போராகவே இருக்கின்றனர்.

but we will this day deliver you with your body that you may be a sign to those after you, and most surely the majority of the people are heedless to our communications.
எனினும் உனக்குப் பின்னுள்ளவர்களுக்கு ஓர் அத்தாட்சியாக இன்றைய தினம் நாம் உம் உடலைப் பாதுகாப்போம்; நிச்சயமாக மக்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் நம் அத்தாட்சிகளைப்பற்றி அலட்சியமாக இருக்கின்றார்கள்" (என்று அவனிடம் கூறப்பட்டது).

it is allah who made for you the night that you may rest therein and the day giving sight. indeed, allah is full of bounty to the people, but most of the people are not grateful.
நீங்கள் இளைப்பாறுவதற்காக இரவையும், நீங்கள் பார்ப்பதற்காக பகலையும் அல்லாஹ்தான் படைத்தான்; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் மனிதர்கள் மீது அருள் பொழிகின்றான்; ஆயினும் மனிதர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் நன்றி செலுத்துவதில்லை.

among the people are those who say, “we believe in god and in the last day,” but they are not believers.
இன்னும் மனிதர்களில் "நாங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதும், இறுதி(த் தீர்ப்பு) நாள் மீதும் ஈமான் (நம்பிக்கை) கொள்கிறோம்" என்று கூறுவோறும் இருக்கின்றனர்; ஆனால் (உண்மையில்) அவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோர் அல்லர்.

among the people are those who dispute about allah without any knowledge, and follow every froward devil,
இன்னும், எத்தகைய கல்வி ஞானமும் இல்லாமல் அல்லாஹ்வைப் பற்றித் தர்க்கம் செய்கிறவர்களும், மனமுரண்டாய் எதிர்க்கும் ஒவ்வொரு ஷைத்தானையும் பின்பற்றுகிறவர்களும் மனிதர்களில் இருக்கிறார்கள்.

alif. lam. mim. ra. these are the verses of the book. and that which is sent down unto thee from thy lord is the truth, but most of the people believe not.
அலிஃப், லாம், மீம், றா. இவை வேதத்தின் வசனங்களாகவும். மேலும் (நபியே!) உம் மீது, உம் இறைவனிடமிருந்து அருளப்பட்டுள்ள இது உண்மையாகும் - எனினும் மனிதர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இதனை) நம்புவதில்லை.

alif, lam, meem, ra. these are the verses of the book; and what has been revealed to you from your lord is the truth, but most of the people do not believe.
அலிஃப், லாம், மீம், றா. இவை வேதத்தின் வசனங்களாகவும். மேலும் (நபியே!) உம் மீது, உம் இறைவனிடமிருந்து அருளப்பட்டுள்ள இது உண்மையாகும் - எனினும் மனிதர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இதனை) நம்புவதில்லை.

and i have followed the religion of my fathers, abraham, isaac and jacob. and it was not for us to associate anything with allah. that is from the favor of allah upon us and upon the people, but most of the people are not grateful.
"நான் என் மூதாதையர்களான இப்றாஹீம், இஸ்ஹாக், யஃகூப் ஆகியோரின் மார்க்கத்தைப் பின்பற்றுகிறேன்; அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு எதையும் நாங்கள் இணைவைப்பது எங்களுக்கு தகுமானதல்ல, இது எங்கள் மீதும் (இதர) மக்கள் மீதும் அல்லாஹ் புரிந்த அருளாகும் - எனினும் மனிதர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) நன்றி செலுத்துவதில்லை.

the people most deserving of abraham are those who followed him, and this prophet, and those who believe. god is the guardian of the believers.
நிச்சயமாக மனிதர்களி; ல் இப்ராஹீமுக்கு மிகவும் நெருங்கியவர்கள், அவரைப் பின்பற்றியோரும், இந்த நபியும், (அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதும், இந்த நபியின் மீதும்) ஈமான் கொண்டோருமே ஆவார்;. மேலும் அல்லாஹ் முஃமின்களின் பாதுகாவலனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

and what do they, who fabricate lies against allah, assume will be their state on the day of resurrection? indeed allah is most munificent upon mankind, but most people are not thankful.
அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது பொய்யான கற்பனை செய்பவர்கள், மறுமை றாளைப்பற்றி என்ன நினைக்கிறார்கள்? நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் மனிதர்கள் மீது பெருங்கிருபையுடையவனாக இருக்கின்றான். எனினும் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் நன்றி செலுத்துவதில்லை.
