knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,

o god, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.
โอ ข้าแต่พระเจ้า พระองค์ทรงทราบถึงความโง่ของข้าพระองค์ ความผิดบาปที่ข้าพระองค์กระทำแล้วมิได้ซ่อนไว้จากพระองค

hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.
เจ้าหยั่งรู้ความกว้างใหญ่ของแผ่นดินโลกหรือ ถ้าเจ้ารู้ทั้งหมดนี้ก็จงบอกม

and what can david say more unto thee? for thou, lord god, knowest thy servant.
ดาวิดจะกราบทูลประการใดอีกต่อพระองค์ได้เล่า ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า พระองค์ทรงรู้จักผู้รับใช้ของพระองค

and they were utterly confounded, and they said: well thou knowest that these speak not.
ครั้นแล้วศีรษะของพวกเขาก็ก้มลงมา(อยู่ในสภาพคอตก) แล้วกล่าวว่า “ท่าน ก็รู้ดีอยู่แล้วว่ารูปปั้นเหล่านั้นพูดไม่ได้”

knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?
เจ้ารู้กฎของฟ้าสวรรค์หรือเปล่า เจ้าตั้งฟ้าสวรรค์ให้ครอบครองแผ่นดินได้หรื

thereafter they were made to turn over upon their heads, saying, assuredly thou knowest that they speak not.
ครั้นแล้วศีรษะของพวกเขาก็ก้มลงมา(อยู่ในสภาพคอตก) แล้วกล่าวว่า “ท่าน ก็รู้ดีอยู่แล้วว่ารูปปั้นเหล่านั้นพูดไม่ได้”

they said: well thou knowest that we have no right to thy daughters, and well thou knowest what we want.
พวกเขากล่าวว่า “โดยแน่นอน ท่านรู้ดีว่า เราไม่มีสิทธิ์ในลูกสาวของท่าน และแท้จริงท่านรู้ดีถึงสิ่งที่เราปรารถนา”

give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.
จงปันส่วนหนึ่งให้แก่คนเจ็ดคน เออ ถึงแปดคนก็ให้เถอะ เพราะเจ้าไม่ทราบว่าสิ่งสามานย์อย่างใดจะบังเกิดขึ้นบนพื้นแผ่นดิ

our lord, thou knowest what we keep secret and what we publish; from god nothing whatever is hidden in earth and heaven.
“โอ้พระเจ้าของเรา แท้จริงพระองค์ทรงรอบรู้สิ่งที่เราปิดบังและสิ่งที่เราเปิดเผย ไม่มีสิ่งใดจะซ่อนเร้นไปจากอัลลอฮ ทั้งในแผ่นดินและในชั้นฟ้า

knowest thou not that to allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth? and besides him ye have neither patron nor helper.
เจ้า (มุฮัมมัด) มิได้รู้ดอกหรือว่า แท้จริงอัลลอฮ์นั้นทรงมีอำนาจแห่งชั้นฟ้าทั้งหลาย และแผ่นดิน อื่นจากอัลลอฮ์แล้ว พวกเจ้าย่อมไม่มีผู้คุ้มครองใด ๆ และผู้ช่วยเหลือใด ๆ

knowest thou not that allah knows all that is in heaven and on earth? indeed it is all in a record, and that is easy for allah.
เจ้ามิรู้ดอกหรือว่า แท้จริงอัลลอฮ์นั้นทรงรอบรู้สิ่งที่อยู่ในชั้นฟ้าและแผ่นดิน แท้จริงสิ่งนั้นอยู่ในบันทึกแล้ว” แท้จริงในการนั้นเป็นการง่ายดายสำหรับอัลลอฮ์

knowest thou not that to god belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and that you have none, apart from god, neither protector nor helper?
เจ้า (มุฮัมมัด) มิได้รู้ดอกหรือว่า แท้จริงอัลลอฮ์นั้นทรงมีอำนาจแห่งชั้นฟ้าทั้งหลาย และแผ่นดิน อื่นจากอัลลอฮ์แล้ว พวกเจ้าย่อมไม่มีผู้คุ้มครองใด ๆ และผู้ช่วยเหลือใด ๆ

and for whatever verse we abrogate or cast into oblivion, we bring a better or the like of it; knowest thou not that god is powerful over everything?
โองการใดที่เรายกเลิก หรือเราทำให้มันลืมเลือนไปนั้น เราจะนำสิ่งที่ดีกว่าโองการนั้นมา หรือสิ่งที่เท่าเทียมกับโองการนั้น เจ้ามิได้รู้ดอกหรือว่า แท้จริงอัลลอฮ์นั้นทรงเดชานุภาพ เหนือทุกสิ่งทุกอย่าง

"and thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!"
และเจ้าได้ทำการกระทำของเจ้าซึ่งเจ้าได้กระทำไปแล้ว และเจ้าเป็นผู้หนึ่งในหมู่ผู้เนรคุณ

lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them! therefor, worship thou him and be thou steadfast in his service. knowest thou one that can be named along with him?
พระเจ้าแห่งบรรดาชั้นฟ้าและแผ่นดินและสิ่งที่อยู่ระหว่างทั้งสอง ดังนั้นจงเคารพภักดีต่อพระองค์ และจงอดทนต่อการเคารพภักดีพระองค์สูเจ้ารู้หรือว่ามีผู้ใดเสมอเหมือนพระองค์ ?

people ask thee ccncerning the hour. say thou: the knowledge there of is only with allah: and what knowest thou! --belike the hour is nigh.
มีผู้คนถามเจ้าเกี่ยวกับยามอวสาน จงกล่าวเถิด (มุฮัมมัด) “แท้จริงความรู้ในเรื่องนั้นอยู่ ณ ที่อัลลอฮฺ” และอะไรเล่าจะทำให้เจ้ารู้ได้ บางทียามอวสานนั้นอยู่ใกล้ ๆ นี่เอง
