' सरला महाभारत ' में शकुनि दाँव - पेंचों व कुपरामर्श के कारण दुर्योधन के पिता धृतराष्ट्र कौरवों - पांडवों के बीच युद्ध को टालने में असफल होते दिखायी देते हैं ।
