a metà strada tra queste due isole, troneggiando su una delle vaste scogliere a pelo d'acqua che ingombrano questa parte della laguna, si ergeva fino all'anno 95, un cocco pittoresco, piantato, solitario su una isola minuscola di due metri di diametro; avevo fatto apparire quest'isola notevole sulla copertura del mio libro " iles était une fois " e nei titoli della serie di film che portano lo stesso nome (in italiano : " c'era un isola." e' una tempesta che ha portato via l'albero isolato... poiché le mie traversate mi hanno riportato in polinesia, io mi propongo, con alcuni amici navigatori ora installati a tahaa, di andare a ripiantare un cocco su questa isola minuscola!
half way between these two islands, rising from one of the vast reefs, just above water, that clutter this part of the lagoon, until the year 1995, stood a picturesque lone palm tree, planted on an islet, two meters across; this remarkable islet was prominent on the cover of one of my photo albums "iles. était une fois", and in the titles of the seres of films bearing the same name. then a storm took away the lone palm tree. as my crossings sometimes bring me back to polynesia, i plan, with some cruising friends who now live in tahaa, to go and plant another coconut tree on this tiny islet!
