jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.

kan ci yéen, bu la sa doom ñaanee mburu, nga jox ko doj?
or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

taalibe yi nag daldi werante naan: «nun de indaalewunu mburu.»
and they reasoned among themselves, saying, it is because we have no bread.

waaye yeesu tontu ko ne: «mbind mi nee na: “nit du dunde mburu rekk, waaye itam gépp kàddu gu génne ci gémmiñug yàlla.”»
but he answered and said, it is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of god.
