and by the dawn as it brightens ;

and by the moon , as it grows full .
በጨረቃውም በሞላ ጊዜ ( እምላለሁ ) ፡ ፡

( ቃንቄውም ) ልክ ዳለቻዎች ግመሎችን ይመስላል ፡ ፡

and gives ear to its lord as it should .
ለጌታዋም ( ትዕዛዝ ) በሰማች ጊዜ ፤ ( ልትሰማ ) ተገባትም ፤

and by the dawn as it shineth forth , -
በንጋቱም ባበራ ጊዜ ፡ ፡

and by the day as it shows up ( the sun 's ) brightness ;
በቀኑም ( ፀሐይን ) በገለጻት ጊዜ ፤

and the dawn as it breathes away the darkness ; -
በንጋቱም ( በብርሃን ) በተነፈሰ ጊዜ ፤ ( እምላለሁ ) ፡ ፡

" and leave the sea as it is ( quiet and divided ) . verily , they are a host to be drowned . "
