ምእመንንም አስቦ የሚገድል ሰው ቅጣቱ በውስጧ ዘውታሪ ሲኾን ገሀነም ናት ፡ ፡ አላህም በርሱ ላይ ተቆጣ ፡ ፡ ረገመውም ፡ ፡ ለእርሱም ከባድ ቅጣትን አዘጋጀ ፡ ፡

and if ye know not their fathers then they are your brethren in religion and your friends . and there is no fault upon you in regard to the mistake ye have made therein , but in regard to that which your hearts intend purposely .
ለአባቶቻቸው ( በማስጠጋት ) ጥሯቸው ፡ ፡ እርሱ አላህ ዘንድ ትክክለኛ ነው ፡ ፡ አባቶቻቸውንም ባታውቁ በሃይማኖት ወንድሞቻችሁና ዘመዶቻችሁ ናቸው ፡ ፡ በእርሱ በተሳሳታችሁበት ነገርም በእናንተ ላይ ኀጢአት የለባችሁም ፡ ፡ ግን ልቦቻችሁ ዐውቀው በሠሩት ( ኀጢአት አለባችሁ ) ፡ ፡ አላህም መሓሪ አዛኝ ነው ፡ ፡

so o muslims , do you wish for the jews to accept faith in you whereas a group of them used to listen to the words of allah , and then after having understood it , purposely changed it ?
( አይሁዶች ) ከነሱ የኾኑ ጭፍሮች የአላህን ቃል የሚሰሙና ከዚያም ከተረዱት በኋላ እነርሱ እያወቁ የሚለውጡት ሲኾኑ ለናንተ ማመናቸውን ትከጅላላችሁን ?

among the people given the book ( s ) is one who , if you trust him with a heap of treasure , will return it to you ; and among them is one who , if you trust him with ( just ) one coin , will not return it to you unless you constantly stand over him ( keep demanding ) ; that is because they say , “ we are not obliged in any way , in the case of illiterates ” ; and they purposely fabricate lies against allah .
ከመጽሐፉ ሰዎችም በብዙ ገንዘብ ብታምነው ወዳንተ የሚመልስ ሰው አልለ ፡ ፡ ከእነሱም በአንድ ዲናር እንኳ ብታምነው ፤ ሁል ጊዜ በርሱ ላይ የምትጠባበቅ ካልኾንክ በስተቀር የማይመልስ ሰው አልለ ፡ ፡ « ይህ በመሃይምናን ( በምናደርገው ) በእኛ ላይ ምንም መንገድ የለብንም » ስለሚሉ ነው ፡ ፡ እነርሱ እያወቁም በአላህ ላይ ውሸትን ይናገራሉ ፡ ፡
