a group of the unbelievers among his people said , " you look to us like a fool and we think that you are a liar " .
ከሕዝቦቹ እነዚያ የካዱት መሪዎች « እኛ በሞኝነት ላይ ኾነህ በእርግጥ እናይሃለን ፡ ፡ እኛም ከውሸተኞቹ ነህ ብለን እንጠረጥርሃለን » አሉት ፡ ፡

so set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded . "
ከቤተሰብህም ጋር በሌሊቱ ከፊል ኺድ ፡ ፡ ከኋላቸውም ተከተል ፡ ፡ ከእናንተም አንድም ሰው ወደ ኋላው አይገላመጥ ፡ ፡ ወደ ታዘዛችሁበትም ስፍራ እለፉ » ( አሉት ) ፡ ፡

pleasing seem their persons when you look at them ; and when they talk , you listen to their speech . yet they are like the wooden panelling of a wall .
ባየሃቸውም ጊዜ አካሎቻቸው ( ግዙፍነታቸው ) ያስደንቁሃል ፡ ፡ ቢናገሩም ለንግግራቸው ታዳምጣለህ ፤ ( ከዕውቀት ባዶ በመኾን ) ፡ ፡ እነርሱ ልክ በግድግዳ የተጠጉ ግንዶችን ይመስላሉ ፡ ፡ ጩኸትን ሁሉ በእነርሱ ላይ ነው ብለው ያስባሉ ፡ ፡ እነርሱ ጠላቶች ናቸውና ተጠንቀቃቸው ፡ ፡ አላህ ይጋደላቸው ፤ ( ከእምነት ) እንዴት ይመለሳሉ !

and when you look at them , their bodies please you ; and when they speak , you listen to their words . they are as blocks of wood propped up .
ባየሃቸውም ጊዜ አካሎቻቸው ( ግዙፍነታቸው ) ያስደንቁሃል ፡ ፡ ቢናገሩም ለንግግራቸው ታዳምጣለህ ፤ ( ከዕውቀት ባዶ በመኾን ) ፡ ፡ እነርሱ ልክ በግድግዳ የተጠጉ ግንዶችን ይመስላሉ ፡ ፡ ጩኸትን ሁሉ በእነርሱ ላይ ነው ብለው ያስባሉ ፡ ፡ እነርሱ ጠላቶች ናቸውና ተጠንቀቃቸው ፡ ፡ አላህ ይጋደላቸው ፤ ( ከእምነት ) እንዴት ይመለሳሉ !

[ we also sent ] lot , when he said to his people , ‘ what ! do you commit this indecency while you look on ?
ሉጥንም ለሕዝቦቹ ባለ ጊዜ ( አስታውስ ) ፤ « እናንተ የምታዩ ስትኾኑ ፀያፍን ነገር ትሠራላችሁን
