the voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare ye the way of the lord, make his paths straight.
Անապատում կանչողի ձայնն է. «Պատրաստեցէ՛ք Տիրոջ ճանապարհը եւ հարթեցէ՛ք նրա շաւիղները»:

Սա՛ է այն մարդը, որի մասին Եսայի մարգարէի բերանով ասուեց. «Անապատում կանչողի ձայնն է, պատրաստեցէ՛ք Տիրոջ ճանապարհը եւ հարթեցէ՛ք նրա շաւիղները»:

and they asked him, saying, master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of god truly:
Հարցրին նրան եւ ասացին. «Վարդապե՛տ, գիտենք, որ ճիշտ ես խօսում ու ուսուցանում եւ աչառութիւն չես անում, այլ ճշմարտութեամբ Աստծու ճանապարհն ես սովորեցնում:

Երբ ես գալիս էի Ասորիների Միջագետքից ու մի ասպարէզի չափ մօտեցել էի Քաբրաթա երկրին, Քանանացիների երկրում մեռաւ քո մայր Ռաքէլը: Ես նրան թաղեցի ճանապարհին, Եփրաթա չհասած. դա Բեթղեհէմն է»:

for i know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the lord, to do justice and judgment; that the lord may bring upon abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
որովհետեւ ես գիտէի, որ նա իր որդիներին ու իր յետնորդներին կը պատուիրի, որ նրանք Տիրոջ ճանապարհով ընթանան՝ պահպանելով արդարութիւնն ու իրաւունքը: Տէր Աստուած կը կատարի այն ամէնը, ինչ խոստացել է Աբրահամին»:

and they sent out unto him their disciples with the herodians, saying, master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of god in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
Եւ նրա մօտ ուղարկեցին իրենց աշակերտներից ոմանց՝ հերովդէսականների հետ միասին եւ ասացին. «Վարդապե՛տ, գիտենք, որ ճշմարտախօս ես եւ Աստծու ճանապարհը ճշմարտութեամբ ես ուսուցանում. եւ ոչ մէկից չես քաշւում ու ոչ մի մարդու աչառութիւն չ»ս անում:

for john came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
որովհետեւ Յովհաննէսը արդարութեան ճանապարհով եկաւ, եւ նրան չհաւատացիք. իսկ մաքսաւորներ ու պոռնիկներ հաւատացին նրան. եւ դուք այդ տեսաք եւ յետոյ էլ չզղջացիք, որ նրան հաւատայիք»:

and it came to pass, when pharaoh had let the people go, that god led them not through the way of the land of the philistines, although that was near; for god said, lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to egypt:
Երբ փարաւոնն արձակեց ժողովրդին, Աստուած նրանց կարճ ճանապարհով՝ Փղշտացիների երկրով չառաջնորդեց, որովհետեւ Աստուած մտածեց, թէ ժողովուրդը պատերազմի բռնուելով՝ գուցէ վախենայ ու Եգիպտոս վերադառնայ:
