and he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of god.

god hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. wot ye not what the scripture saith of elias? how he maketh intercession to god against israel, saying,

who is he that condemneth? it is christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of god, who also maketh intercession for us.

i exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
