as for those of you who cannot afford to marry faithful free women, then [let them marry] from what you own, from among your faithful slave-women. your faith is best known [only] to allah; you are all [on a] similar [footing]. so marry them with their masters’ permission, and give them their dowries in an honourable manner—[such of them] as are chaste women, not licentious ones or those who take paramours. but should they commit an indecent act on marrying, there shall be for them [only] half the punishment for free women. this is for those of you who fear falling into fornication; but it is better that you be continent, and allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.
ئه‌وه‌ش که نه‌یتوانی له ئێوه له‌به‌ر ده‌ست کورتی، ئافره‌تانی سه‌ربه‌ستی باوه‌ڕدا ماره بکات، ئه‌وه با له کچه‌که‌نیزه‌که ئیمانداره‌کانتان بخوازێت، خوایش زانایه که ڕاده‌ی ئیمانتان چه‌نده و چۆنه، ئێوه هه‌ندێکتان له هه‌ندێکتانن (هه‌مووتان له ئاده‌م و حه‌وان و ئه‌م جیاوازیه چینایه‌تیه شتێکی کاتی یه)، له‌به‌رئه‌وه ئه‌و که‌نیزه‌کانه ماره بکه‌ن له‌سه‌ر ڕه‌زامه‌ندی که‌س و کارو خاوه‌نه‌کانیان و ماره‌ییان به‌چاکی پێ بده‌ن، له‌کاتێکدا ئه‌و که‌نیزه‌کانه‌ش پێویسته پاک داوێن بن و دووربن له داوێن پیسی و دۆست گرتنه‌وه، خۆ ئه‌گه‌ر شوویان کردو له‌وه‌ودوا داوێن پیسیه‌کانیان ئه‌نجامدا ئه‌وه نیوه‌ی سزای ئافره‌تانی سه‌ربه‌ست ده‌درێن (چونکه ئازادیی ته‌واویان نه‌بووه له‌و سه‌رده‌مه‌دا)، له‌به‌ر ئه‌وه ماره‌کردنیان بۆ ئه‌وانه‌تانه که ده‌ترسێت تووشی هه‌ڵه‌و گوناهـ ببێت، خۆڕاگریتان (تا خوا ده‌رووتان لێده‌کاته‌وه) چاکتره بۆتان، خوایش لێخۆشبوو و میهره‌بانه.
