spend your wealth for the cause of allah, and be not cast by your own hands to ruin; and do good. lo! allah loveth the beneficent.

thereupon zachariah prayed to his lord, saying, "lord, grant me by your own grace virtuous offspring. you are the hearer of all prayers."

god does not punish you but for what you swear in earnest. the expiation (for breaking an oath) is feeding ten persons who are poor, with food that you give your own families, or clothing them, or freeing a slave. but he who cannot do so should fast for three days. this is the expiation for an oath when you have sworn it. so abide by your oaths. thus god makes his commandments clear to you: you may perhaps be grateful.
உங்கள் சத்தியங்களில் வீணானவற்றிற்காக அல்லாஹ் உங்களைக் குற்றம் பிடிக்க மாட்டான்;. எனினும் (ஏதாவது ஒன்றை) உறுதிப்படுத்தச் செய்யும் சத்தியங்களுக்காக (அவற்றில் தவறினால்) உங்களைப் பிடிப்பான்;.
