நிச்சயமாக, எவர்கள் நல்லுபதேசம் (குர்ஆன்) தம்மிடம் வந்த போது அதை நிராகரித்தார்களோ (அவர்கள் உண்மையை உணர்வார்கள்) ஏனெனில் அதுவே நிச்சயமாக மிகவும் கண்ணியமான வேதமாகும்.

but they deny the truth when it comes to them: so they are in a confused state.
இருப்பினும், சத்திய (வேத)த்தை -அது தம்மிடம் வந்த போது பொய்ப்பிக்(க முற்படு)கிறார்கள்; அதனால், அவர்கள் குழப்பமான நிலையிலேயே இருக்கின்றனர்.

and proclaim the hajj to all the people: they will come to you on foot and on lean camels, coming from distant places,

மற்றவர்களுக்காகச் செய்யுங்கள், நான் எதிர்பாராத வழிகளில் திரும்பி வருவேன்

and when it is said to them, "come to what allah has revealed and to the messenger," you see the hypocrites turning away from you in aversion.
மேலும் அவர்களிடம்; "அல்லாஹ் இறக்கிய (வேதத்)தின் பக்கமும், (அவனுடைய) தூதரின் பக்கமும் (தீர்ப்புப் பெற) வாருங்கள்" என்று கூறப்பட்டால், அந்த முனாஃபிக்குகள் (நயவஞ்சகர்கள்) உம்மிடமிருந்து முற்றிலும் நீங்கிக் கொள்வதையே நீர் பார்ப்பீர்.

and when it comes to pass, will you believe in it? what! now (you believe), and already you wished to have it hastened on.
"அது வந்ததன் பின்னரா அதை நீங்கள் நம்புவீர்கள்? (அவ்வேதனை வந்ததும்) இதோ! நீங்கள் எது (வர வேண்டும் என்று அவசரப்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களோ அது வந்து விட்டது" (என்று தான் கூறப்படும்).

and who does greater evil than he who forges against god a lie, or cries lies to the truth when it comes to him? what, is there not in gehenna a lodging for the unbelievers?
அன்றியும், அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது பொய்யை இட்டுக்கட்டுபவனைவிட - அல்லது தன்னிடம் சத்தியம் வந்த போது அதைப் பொய்ப்பிப்பவனைவிட அநியாயம் செய்பவன் யார்? (இத்தகைய) காஃபிர்களுக்கு ஒதுங்குமிடம் நரகத்தில் அல்லவா இருக்கின்றது,

and who does greater evil that he who forges a lie against allah or belied the truth when it comes to him! is there not a lodging in gehenna for the unbelievers?
அன்றியும், அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது பொய்யை இட்டுக்கட்டுபவனைவிட - அல்லது தன்னிடம் சத்தியம் வந்த போது அதைப் பொய்ப்பிப்பவனைவிட அநியாயம் செய்பவன் யார்? (இத்தகைய) காஃபிர்களுக்கு ஒதுங்குமிடம் நரகத்தில் அல்லவா இருக்கின்றது,

do they then wait for aught but the hour that it should come to them all of a sudden? now indeed the tokens of it have (already) come, but how shall they have their reminder when it comes on them?
எனவே இவர்கள் தங்கள் பால் திடுகூறாக (தீப்ப்புக்குரிய) அவ்வேளை வருவதை அன்றி (வேறு எதனையும்) எதிர்பார்க்கின்றனரா? அதன் அடையாளங்கள் திட்டமாக வந்து விட்டன ஆகவே அது அவர்களிடம் வந்து விட்டால், அவர்களுக்கு நினைவூட்டும் நல்லுபதேசம் எவ்வாறு பயனளிக்கும்.

how will it be when an affliction befalls them because of what they themselves have done? they will come to you, swearing by god, saying that they were seeking nothing but goodwill and conciliation.
அவர்களின் கைகள் முற்படுத்தியனுப்பிய தீவினையின் காரணத்தால், அவர்களுக்குத் துன்பம் ஏற்பட்டால் எப்படியிருக்கும்? அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் உம்மிடம் வந்து அல்லாஹ்வின் மேல் சத்தியம் செய்து "நாங்கள் நன்மையையும் ஒற்றுமையையும் தவிர (வேறெதனையும்) நாடவில்லை" என்று கூறுகின்றனர்.

they have sworn by god the most earnest oaths if a sign comes to them they will believe in it. say: 'signs are only with god.' what will make you realize that, when it comes, they will not believe?
(நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும்) அவர்கள், அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது உறுதியான சத்தியம் செய்து, தங்களுக்கு ஓர் அத்தாட்சி வந்துவிடுமானால் தாம் நிச்சயமாக அதைக் கொண்டு ஈமான் கொள்வதாக கூறுகிறார்கள். (நபியே!) அவர்களிடம்) நீர் கூறும்; அத்தாட்சிகள் யாவும் அல்லாஹ்விடமே இருக்கின்றன. அந்த அத்தாட்சிகள் வரும்பொழுது நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் ஈமான் கொள்ளமாட்டார்கள் என்பதை உங்களுக்கு எது அறிவித்தது?

and if we hold back from them the punishment until a stated period of time, they will certainly say: what prevents it? now surely on the day when it will come to them, it shall not be averted from them and that which they scoffed at shall beset them.
(குஃப்ரின் காரணமாக அவர்களுக்கு விதிக்கப்பட வேண்டிய) வேதனையை ஒரு குறித்தகாலம் வரை நாம் பிற்படுத்தினால் "அதைத் தடுத்தது யாது?" என்று அவர்கள் நிச்சயமாக (ஏளனமாகக்) கேட்பார்கள். அவர்களுக்கு வேதனை வரும் நாளில் அவர்களை விட்டும் (அது) தடுக்கப்படாது என்பதையும், எதை அவர்கள் பரிகாசம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார்களோ அது அவர்களைச் சூழ்ந்து கொள்ளும் என்பதையும் அவர்கள் அறிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டாமா?
