i am the way , the truth, and the life
வழியும் உண்மையும் வாழ்வும் நானே

said he, 'this is the truth, and the truth i say;
(அதற்கு இறைவன்;) "அது உண்மை உண்மையையே நான் கூறுகிறேன் என்று இறைவன் கூறினான்.

he is the forgiving and the loving,
அன்றியும், அவன் மிகவும் மன்னிப்பவன்; மிக்க அன்புடையவன்.

god exists. he is the only lord, the everlasting and the guardian of life.
அவன் நித்திய ஜீவன்; என்றும் நிலைத்திருப்பவன்.

and he is the forgiving, and the loving.
அன்றியும், அவன் மிகவும் மன்னிப்பவன்; மிக்க அன்புடையவன்.

that is because god -- he is the truth, and brings the dead to life, and is powerful over everything,
இது ஏனெனில், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அவனே உண்மையானவன் - (நிலையானவன்) நிச்சயமாக அவனே மரித்தோரை உயிர்ப்பிக்கின்றான் - இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக அவன்தான் எல்லாப் பொருட்களின் மீதும் பேராற்றலுள்ளவன் என்பதனால்.

he is the knower of the unseen and the visible, the almighty, the wise.
மறைவானவற்றையும், பகிரங்கமானவற்றையும் அறிபவன்; (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவன்; ஞானம் மிக்கவன்.

he is the lord of the two easts and the lord of the two wests.
இரு கீழ்திசைகளுக்கும் இறைவன் அவனே, இரு மேல்திசைகளுக்கும் இறைவன் அவனே.

he is the knower of the known and the unknown, the mighty and most high.
(எல்லாவற்றின்) இரகசியத்தையும், பரகசியத்தையும் அவன் நன்கறிந்தவன்; அவன் மிகவும் பெரியவன்; மிகவும் உயர்ந்தவன்.

and verify ours is both the hereafter and the life present.
அன்றியும் பிந்தியதும் (மறுமையும்) முந்தியதும் (இம்மையும்) நம்முடையவையே ஆகும்.

(he is) the knower of the unseen and the seen, the great, the exalted.
(எல்லாவற்றின்) இரகசியத்தையும், பரகசியத்தையும் அவன் நன்கறிந்தவன்; அவன் மிகவும் பெரியவன்; மிகவும் உயர்ந்தவன்.

he is the knower of the unseen and the visible, the great, the most-exalted.
(எல்லாவற்றின்) இரகசியத்தையும், பரகசியத்தையும் அவன் நன்கறிந்தவன்; அவன் மிகவும் பெரியவன்; மிகவும் உயர்ந்தவன்.

it is god who has sent down the book with the truth, and the balance. how do you know the hour is not near?
அல்லாஹ்தான் இந்த வேதத்தையும் நீதியையும் உண்மையையும் கொண்டு இறக்கி அருளினான்; இன்னும் (நபியே! தீர்ப்புக்குரிய) அவ்வேளை சமீபமாக இருக்கிறது என்பதை நீர் அறிவீரா?

all this is because allah, he is the truth, and because he resurrects the dead, and because he has power over everything,

that is because god is the truth, and because he gives life to the dead, and because he is capable of everything.
இது ஏனெனில், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அவனே உண்மையானவன் - (நிலையானவன்) நிச்சயமாக அவனே மரித்தோரை உயிர்ப்பிக்கின்றான் - இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக அவன்தான் எல்லாப் பொருட்களின் மீதும் பேராற்றலுள்ளவன் என்பதனால்.

allah it is who hath sent down the book with the truth and the balance. and what shall make thee know the hour may haply be nigh.
அல்லாஹ்தான் இந்த வேதத்தையும் நீதியையும் உண்மையையும் கொண்டு இறக்கி அருளினான்; இன்னும் (நபியே! தீர்ப்புக்குரிய) அவ்வேளை சமீபமாக இருக்கிறது என்பதை நீர் அறிவீரா?

and the one who has brought the truth and [they who] believed in it - those are the righteous.
அன்றியும், உண்மையைக் கொண்டு வந்தவரும், அவ்வுண்மையை ஏற்(று உறுதிப்படுத்து)பவர்களும் - இவர்கள் தாம் - பயபக்தியுடையவர்கள் ஆவார்கள்.
