அப்பால் அவர்களுடைய தெய்வங்களின் பால் அவர் சென்று "(உங்களுக்கு முன் படைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள உணவுகளை) நீங்கள் உண்ணமாட்டீர்களா?" என்று கூறினார்.

that (is the command). and whoso magnifieth the offerings consecrated to allah, it surely is from devotion of the hearts,

and if any man should be in difficulties, let him have respite till things are easier; but that you should give freewill offerings is better for you, did you but know.
அன்றியும், கடன்பட்டவர் (அதனைத் தீர்க்க இயலாது) கஷ்டத்தில் இருப்பின் (அவருக்கு) வசதியான நிலை வரும்வரைக் காத்திருங்கள்;. இன்னும், (கடனைத் தீர்க்க இயலாதவருக்கு அதை) தர்மமாக விட்டுவிடுவீர்களானால் -(அதன் நன்மைகள் பற்றி) நீங்கள் அறிவீர்களானால் - (அதுவே) உங்களுக்குப் பெரும் நன்மையாகும்.

say, "whether you give willingly or unwillingly, your offerings shall not be accepted by god, for you are indeed a disobedient people."
(நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்; "நீங்கள் விருப்புடனோ, அல்லது வெறுப்புடனோ (தர்மத்திற்குச்) செலவு செய்தாலும் அது உங்களிடமிருந்து ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளப்படமாட்டாது - ஏனெனில் நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் பாவம் செய்யும் கூட்டத்தாராகவே இருக்கின்றீர்கள்.

accept the offerings they make from their wealth in order to cleanse and purify them for progress, and invoke blessings upon them. your blessings will surely bring them peace, for god hears all and knows everything.
(நபியே!) அவர்களுடைய செல்வத்திலிருந்து தர்மத்திற்கானதை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு, அதனால் அவர்களை உள்ளும் புறமும் தூய்மையாக்குவீராக, இன்னும் அவர்களுக்காகப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்வீராக நிச்சயமாக உம்முடைய பிரார்த்தனை அவர்களுக்கு (சாந்தியும்), ஆறுதலும் அளிக்கும்; அல்லாஹ் (யாவற்றையும்) செவியுறுவோனகவும், அறிபவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

do they not know that god is he who accepts repentance from his servants, and takes the freewill offerings, and that god -- he turns, and is all-compassionate?
நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் தன் அடியார்களிடமிருந்து தவ்பாவை - மன்னிப்புக் கோருதலை - ஒப்புக்கொள்கிறான் என்பதையும், (அவர்களுடைய) தர்மங்களை அங்கீகரிக்கிறான் என்பதையும் அவர்கள் அறியவில்லையா? மெய்யாகவே அல்லாஹ் தவ்பாவை ஏற்று அருள் புரிபவன்.

there are some among them who blame you (of partiality) in distributing the offerings made in the name of god. in case they receive some of these they are pleased, if not, they are incensed.
(நபியே!) தானங்கள் விஷயத்தில் (பாரபட்சம் உடையவர்) என்று உம்மைக் குறை கூறுபவரும் அவர்களில் இருக்கிறார்கள்; ஆனால் அவற்றிலிருந்து அவர்களுக்கும் ஒரு பங்கு கொடுக்கப்பட்டால் திருப்தியடைகின்றார்கள் - அப்படி அவற்றிலிருந்து கொடுக்கப்படவில்லையானால், அவர்கள் ஆத்திரம் கொள்கிறார்கள்.
