(நினைவூட்டும்) வேதம் அருளப் பட்ட(தாகக் கூறுப)வரே! நிச்சயமாக நீர் பைத்தியக்காரர்தான் என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்.

we thus diversify the revelations, lest they say, “you have studied,” and to clarify them for people who know.
நீர் (பல வேதங்களிலிருந்து) காப்பி அடித்து இருக்கிறீர் என்று அவர்கள் கூறுவதற்காகவும் அறியக்கூடிய மக்களுக்கு அதனை நாம் தெளிவு படுத்துவதற்காகவும் (நமது) வசனங்களை இவ்வாறே விளக்குகிறோம்.

we know best what they say. the moderate ones among them will say, "you did not live on earth for more than a day."
"ஒரு நாளேயன்றி (அதிகமாக) நீங்கள் தங்கவில்லை" என்று அவர்களில் நல்வழியில் சென்றவர்கள் கூறுவதையும் நாம் நன்கறிவோம்.

we are fully aware of what they wish to hear when they listen to you; and what they say when they converse in private; and when the wrongdoers say, "you are only following a man who is bewitched!"
(நபியே!) அவர்கள் உமக்குச் செவி சாய்த்தால், என்ன நோக்கத்துடன் செவி சாய்க்கின்றார்கள் என்பதையும் அவர்கள் தமக்குள் இரகசியமாக ஆலோசனை செய்யும் போது, "சூனியம் செய்யப்பட்ட ஒரு மனிதரையே அன்றி (வேறெவரையும்) நீங்கள் பின்பற்றிவில்லை" என்று (தங்களுக்குள்) அந்த அநியாயக்காரர்கள் சொல்வதையும் நாம் நன்கறிவோம்.

we are well aware of what they wish to hear when they listen to you and what they say when they confer in whispers, when the wrong-doers say: "you are only following one who is bewitched."
(நபியே!) அவர்கள் உமக்குச் செவி சாய்த்தால், என்ன நோக்கத்துடன் செவி சாய்க்கின்றார்கள் என்பதையும் அவர்கள் தமக்குள் இரகசியமாக ஆலோசனை செய்யும் போது, "சூனியம் செய்யப்பட்ட ஒரு மனிதரையே அன்றி (வேறெவரையும்) நீங்கள் பின்பற்றிவில்லை" என்று (தங்களுக்குள்) அந்த அநியாயக்காரர்கள் சொல்வதையும் நாம் நன்கறிவோம்.

when we replace a message with another -- and god knows best what he reveals -- they say: "you have made it up;" yet most of them do not know.
(நபியே!) நாம் ஒரு வசனத்தை மற்றொரு வசனத்தின் இடத்தில் மாற்றினால், (உம்மிடம்) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் இட்டுக்கட்டுபவராக இருக்கின்றீர்" என்று அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்; எ(ந்த நேரத்தில், எ)தை இறக்க வேண்டுமென்பதை அல்லாஹ்வே நன்கறிந்தவன், எனினும் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இவ்வுண்மையை) அறிய மாட்டார்கள்.

do they say you have fabricated it? tell them: "if i have fabricated it, then mine is the guilt; but i am clear of what you are guilty."
(நபியே! நீர் இதைக் கூறும் போது;) "இதனை இவர் இட்டுக் கட்டிச் சொல்கிறார்" என்று கூறுகிறார்களா? (அதற்கு) நீர் கூறும்; "நான் இதனை இட்டுக் கட்டிச் சொல்லியிருந்தால், என் மீதே என் குற்றம் சாரும்; நீங்கள் செய்யும் குற்றங்களிலிருந்து நான் நீங்கியவன் ஆவென்."

and when we change (one) communication for (another) communication, and allah knows best what he reveals, they say: you are only a forger. nay, most of them do not know.
(நபியே!) நாம் ஒரு வசனத்தை மற்றொரு வசனத்தின் இடத்தில் மாற்றினால், (உம்மிடம்) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் இட்டுக்கட்டுபவராக இருக்கின்றீர்" என்று அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்; எ(ந்த நேரத்தில், எ)தை இறக்க வேண்டுமென்பதை அல்லாஹ்வே நன்கறிந்தவன், எனினும் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (இவ்வுண்மையை) அறிய மாட்டார்கள்.

indeed, we know what they say. you (prophet muhammad) are not a tyrant over them. therefore, remind by the koran whosoever fears (my) threat.

and they say, 'the fire shall not touch us save a number of days.' say: 'have you taken with god a covenant? god will not fail in his covenant; or say you things against god of which you know nothing?
"ஒரு சில நாட்கள் தவிர எங்களை நரக நெருப்புத் தீண்டாது" என்று அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள். "அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து அப்படி ஏதேனும் உறுதிமொழி பெற்றிருக்கிறீர்களா? அப்படியாயின் அல்லாஹ் தன் உறுதி மொழிக்கு மாற்றம் செய்யவே மாட்டான்; அல்லது நீங்கள் அறியாததை அல்லாஹ் சொன்னதாக இட்டுக் கட்டிக் கூறுகின்றீர்களா?" என்று (நபியே! அந்த யூதர்களிடம்) நீர் கேளும்.
