and attend to your prayers, and practice regular charity, and kneel with those who kneel.
தொழுகையைக் கடைப் பிடியுங்கள்; ஜகாத்தையும் (ஒழுங்காகக்) கொடுத்து வாருங்கள்; ருகூஃ செய்வோரோடு சேர்ந்து நீங்களும் ருகூஃ செய்யுங்கள்.

attend to your prayers, give the zakat [prescribed alms] and bow down with those who bow down.
தொழுகையைக் கடைப் பிடியுங்கள்; ஜகாத்தையும் (ஒழுங்காகக்) கொடுத்து வாருங்கள்; ருகூஃ செய்வோரோடு சேர்ந்து நீங்களும் ருகூஃ செய்யுங்கள்.

i am god. there is no deity save me; so worship me alone, and say your prayers in my remembrance.
"நிச்சயமாக நாம் தான் அல்லாஹ்! என்னைத் தவிர வேறு நாயன் இல்லை, ஆகவே, என்னையே நீர் வணங்கும், என்னை தியானிக்கும் பொருட்டு தொழுகையை நிலைநிறுத்துவீராக.

இன்னும் தொழுகையை முறையாகக் கடைப்பிடித்தும்; ஜகாத் கொடுத்தும் வாருங்கள்; ஏனெனில் உங்களுக்காக எந்த நன்மையை முன்னமேயே அனுப்பி வைக்கின்றீர்களோ, அதை அல்லாஹ்விடம் பெற்றுக்கொள்வீர்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவற்றையெல்லாம் உற்று நோக்கியவனாகவே இருக்கிறான்.

o my dear son! say your prayers regularly, and enjoin good, and forbid evil, and endure patiently whatever may befall you. surely, this is something which requires firm resolve.
"என் அருமை மகனே! நீ தொழுகையை நிலை நாட்டுவாயாக நன்மையை ஏவி, தீமையை விட்டும் (மனிதர்களை) விலக்குவாயாக உனக்கு ஏற்படும் கஷ்டங்களைப் பொறுத்துக் கொள்வாயாக் நிச்சயமாக இதுவே வீரமுள்ள செயல்களில் உள்ளதாகும்

those whom you (pagans) worship besides god, are themselves servants just like yourselves. if your claim was true, they should answer your prayers.
நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி எவர்களை நீங்கள் அழைக்கின்றீர்களோ, அவர்களும் உங்களைப் போன்ற அடிமைகளே நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால் நீங்கள் அவர்களை அழைத்துப் பாருங்கள் - அவர்கள் உங்களுக்கு பதில் அளிக்கட்டும்!

and establish your prayer at the two edges of the day and in part of the night. good deeds will repel evil deeds. that is a remembrance for those whoremember.
பகலின் (காலை, மாலை ஆகிய) இருமுனைகளிலும், இரவின் பகுதியிலும் நீங்கள் தொழுகையை நிலைப்படுத்துவீராக - நிச்சயமாக நற்செயல்கள், தீச்செயல்களைப் போக்கிவிடும் - (இறைவனை) நினைவு கூறுவோருக்கு இது நல்லுபதேசமாக இருக்கும்.

your lord has said, "call on me, and i will answer your prayers." but those who are too arrogant to worship me will certainly enter hell, in disgrace.
உங்கள் இறைவன் கூறுகிறான்; "என்னையே நீங்கள் பிரார்த்தியுங்கள்; நான் உங்(கள் பிரார்த்தனை)களுக்கு பதிலளிக்கிறேன்; எவர்கள் என்னை வணங்குவதை விட்டும் பெருமையடித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்களோ, அவர்கள் சிறுமையடைந்தவர்களாக நரகத்தில் நுழைவார்கள்."

be steadfast in your prayer and pay the religious tax. you will receive a good reward from god for all your good works. god is well-aware of what you do.
இன்னும் தொழுகையை முறையாகக் கடைப்பிடித்தும்; ஜகாத் கொடுத்தும் வாருங்கள்; ஏனெனில் உங்களுக்காக எந்த நன்மையை முன்னமேயே அனுப்பி வைக்கின்றீர்களோ, அதை அல்லாஹ்விடம் பெற்றுக்கொள்வீர்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவற்றையெல்லாம் உற்று நோக்கியவனாகவே இருக்கிறான்.

but if you are in danger, then (say your prayers) on foot or on horseback; and when you are secure, then remember allah, as he has taught you what you did not know.
ஆயினும், (பகைவர்களையோ அல்லது வேறெதையுமோ கொண்டு) நீங்கள் பயப்படும் நிலையில் இருந்தால், நடந்து கொண்டோ அல்லது சவாரி செய்து கொண்டோவாகிலும் தொழுது கொள்ளுங்கள்; பின்னர் நீங்கள் அச்சம் தீர்ந்ததும், நீங்கள் அறியாமல் இருந்ததை அவன் உங்களுக்கு அறிவித்ததைப் போன்று, (நிறைவுடன் தொழுது) அல்லாஹ்வை நினைவு கூறுங்கள்.

said (the lord): "your prayer is answered. therefore persist and do not follow the path of those who are ignorant."
இறைவன் கூறினான்; "உங்கள் இருவரின் பிரார்த்தனை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளப்பட்டது; எனவே நீங்கள் உறுதியாக இருங்கள். அறியாதவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்களே அவர்களின் வழியை நீங்கள் இருவரும் (ஒருபோதுமு;) பின் பற்றாதீர்கள்" என்று.

'shu'aib' they replied, 'does your prayer command you that we should abandon that which our fathers worshipped or do as we please with our goods? you are clement and rightminded'
(அதற்கு) அவர்கள் "ஷுஐபெ! நாங்கள் எங்கள் மூதாதையர் வணங்கிய தெய்வங்களை விட்டு விடுமாறும், நாங்கள் எங்கள் பொருட்களை எங்கள் விருப்பப்படிச் செலவு செய்வதை விட்டுவிடுமாறும் உம்முடைய (மார்க்கத்) தொழுகையா உம்மை ஏவுகிறது? நிச்சயமாக நீர் கிருபையுள்ளவரும் நேர்மையானவரும் தான்" என்று (ஏளனாமாக) கூறினார்கள்.
