(science daily) a. before developing the ability to increase their buzz rate while pursuing prey, toothed whales emitted a steady rate of calls. b. five hundred is the maximum number of calls that both bats and toothed whales can process per second. c. bats typically use an ultrasonic frequency range of 150 to 200 kilohertz to hunt while toothed whales use a range of 15 to 200. d. bats and toothed whales developed similar echolocation techniques despite their different environments.
