to cater to the students after world war ii, there were no public schools in the pasay and makati areas. its purpose is to provide basic education to students within the pasay area. it was established in 1946; the exact month and day is not clear in history, but february 14 is their dedicated date for mrs. mañalac because the school was dedicated to her, erlinda m. mañalac. it opened its doors to its first batch of students in june 1946. the person with the most influence in the school is the current active individual, sir moi. the first-ever teacher is already deceased, but as of now, the oldest teacher who has been working in sec for a long time is amalia fuentes. however, there are a few college professors who came before her. as time goes by, the school changes and adapts to cater to the students’ needs, being open to the differences of each student. it changes and innovates as competition among other schools increases. therefore, the school needs to keep up. it is known as one of the most disciplined schools in pasay. even back in its earlier years, it has been implementing a disciplinary approach. the events change and impact the school. in the 21st century, the school has become more open and allows for diversity. its current goal is to expand its reach within pasay and regain its former glory, reaching out to makati and parañaque, and to be known as a premium private school in the pasay area. its main challenge is to return to the number of students it had in the past, as now the number of students has declined and enrollment isn’t that high. low enrollment results in low revenue. although it is struggling, the school still tries its best to meet the students’ needs. there is no exact meaning as to why it is named southeastern college, but it may be due to the fact that the philippines is located in southeast asia.
