tissue examinations are carried out in collaboration with prof. krenn and include conventional dyeing techniques and supplemental specific dyeing of immune cells as well as determining the concentration of inflammatory substances. in comparison with this series of selected patients samples, tissue samples of three other patient groups will be analyzed: tissue of patients before their first arthroplasty will be collected as well as tissue samples of persons that are subjected to revision arthroplasty for other reasons than a suspected allergy. finally, tissue samples of patients who showed a clear reaction to nickel in the skin test will be taken from that skin area.
