ཆོས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་སྡུད་སྡུད་པ་ཡིན་ན།
and attracted a following with the dharma,

ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་དེའི་ཕྱིར་ཆོས་སྟོན་ཅིག །
“share this venerable one’s teaching.” upatiṣya then spoke in verse:

འདི་ཆོས་གོས་བླ་གོས་སུ་བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབ་བོ།
please bless this dharma robe as an upper robe.”

ལག་པས་ཆོས་གོས་སྣམ་སྦྱར་རྒྱུ་བཟུང་ནས་
they both take the material for the dharma robe called the ceremonial robe in their hands,

ཀྱེ་མ་སངས་རྒྱས། ཀྱེ་མ་ཆོས། ཀྱེ་མ་དགེ་འདུན།
“o buddha! o dharma! o saṅgha!

དེས་སྨྲས་པ། འཕགས་པ་དགེ་འདུན་འཚོ་ཆོས་བསྟན་དུ་གསོལ།
and said, “noble saṅgharakṣita, please teach the dharma.”

གང་གི་ཆོས་ནི་དེ་འདྲ་བ། །དེ་ཡི་ཆོས་མིན་ཅི་ཞིག་འདྲ། །
if this is his dharma, what, for him, is antithetical to dharma?”

དགེ་སློང་མ་གསོལ་བར་ཆོས་སྟོན་ན་འགལ་ཚབས་ཅན་དུ་འགྱུར་རོ། །
if a monk teaches without first having been asked to do so, a serious breach occurs.

ཀུན་དུ་སྤྱོད་པའི་ཆོས་དག་བསླབས་ཏེ་ལུང་བཞི་ཀློག་ཏུ་བཅུག་གོ། །
he taught saṅgharakṣita how dharma practitioners conduct themselves and made him recite the four Āgamas.

ཤེས་ལྡན་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་ཆོས་ཀྱི་ཚུལ་ནི་གང་ཡིན། སློབ་མ་ལ་གདམས་པ་ནི་གང་ཡིན།
“sir, what is your approach to the dharma? what instructions do you give to your students?

ཀྱེ་མ་སངས་རྒྱས། ཀྱེ་མ་ཆོས། ཀྱེ་མ་དགེ་འདུན། ཀྱེ་མ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་ལེགས་པར་གསུངས་པ་ཉིད
“o buddha! o dharma! o saṅgha! o the well-spoken dharma

དེ་ནི་ཆོས་གོས་དྲས་ཤིང་དྲུབས་པ་གསུམ་བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབ་པའོ།། །།
that is how the ordinand’s dharma robes that have already been cut and sewn are sanctioned.

དེ་ནས་ཀུན་དུ་རྒྱུ་ཉེ་རྒྱལ་ཆོས་མཐོང་བ་དང་། ཆོས་ཐོས་པ་དང་།
upatiṣya saw the dharma, heard the dharma,

ཆོས་ཐོས་པ་དང་། ཆོས་རིག་པ་དང་། ཆོས་ཀྱི་གཏིང་སླེབ་པ་དང་།
heard the dharma, knew the dharma, plumbed the depths of the dharma,

ཆོས་རིག་པ་དང་། ཆོས་ཀྱི་གཏིང་སླེབ་པ་དང་། སོམ་ཉི་ལས་རྒལ་བ་དང་།
knew the dharma, plumbed the depths of the dharma, overcame his skepticism,
