il "boris godunov" di musorgskij è tornato al teatro comunale di bologna: non però nella versione definitiva e corrente del 1872, quella con l'atto polacco e la scena della foresta di kromy, e magari anche con la ristrumentazione esotica di rimskij-korsakov o con quella sovietica di shostakovich. daniele gatti ha scelto di dirigere la versione primigenia del 1869, concisa nella drammaturgia e ruvida nell'orchestrazione, e ne ha onorata la gran forza teatrale grazie non tanto alla complicità coi cantanti, quanto piuttosto alla straordinaria presenza, rifinitezza e duttilità sinfonica ottenuta dall'orchestra.
musorgsky's 'boris godunov' has returned to the teatro comunale of bologna. it is not, however, the definitive and current 1872 version with the act set in poland and the kromy-forest scene, perhaps even with rimsky-korsakov's exotic re-instrumentation or with the russian instrumentation by shostakovich. daniele gatti has chosen to conduct the very first 1869 version, with its concise dramaturgy and rough orchestration. he has brought honour to its theatrical power thanks not so much to complicity with the singers as to the extraordinary presence, polish and symphonic flexibility obtained from the orchestra.
