Յեսուն սրակոտոր արեց ամաղէկացիներին ու նրանց ողջ զօրքը:

«Մի՛ կարծէք, թէ եկայ խաղաղութիւն հաստատելու երկրի վրայ. չեկայ հաստատելու խաղաղութիւն, այլ՝ սուր.

Ապա նրա շուրջը գտնուողներից մէկը սուրը քաշեց եւ զարկեց քահանայապետի ծառային ու նրա ականջը կտրեց:

Երբ նրա շուրջը գտնուողները տեսան եղածը, նրան ասացին. «Տէ՛ր, սրով նրանց հարուածե՞նք»:

Իսկ քո հոգու միջով էլ սուր պիտի անցնի, որպէսզի բազում սրտերի խորհուրդներ յայտնի դառնան»:

Յիսուս Պետրոսին ասաց. «Այդ սուրդ նորից իր պատեանի մէջ դիր. այն բաժակը, որ Հայրն է ինձ տուել, չպիտի՞ խմեմ»:

Քո սրով պիտի ապրես եւ քո եղբօրը պիտի ծառայես: Բայց պիտի գայ ժամանակ, որ դու պիտի քանդես եւ շպրտես նրա լուծը քո պարանոցից»:

and they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and jerusalem shall be trodden down of the gentiles, until the times of the gentiles be fulfilled.
Նրանք սրի պիտի քաշուեն, գերի պիտի տարուեն բոլոր հեթանոսներից. եւ Երուսաղէմը ոտքի կոխան պիտի լինի ազգերից, մինչեւ որ լրանան հեթանոսների ժամանակները»:

and, behold, one of them which were with jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.
Եւ ահա Յիսուսի հետ գտնուողներից մէկը ձեռքը երկարեց եւ իր սուրը հանեց ու հարուածեց քահանայապետի ծառային եւ նրա ականջը կտրեց պոկեց:

and they said unto them, the lord look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.
Նրանք ասացին նրանց. «Թող Աստուած աչքի առաջ ունենայ ձեզ եւ դատի, քանի որ մեր հօտը գարշելի դարձրիք փարաւոնի ու նրա պաշտօնեաների աչքին: Դուք սուր տուեցիք նրա ձեռքը, որ նա մեզ սպանի»:

and he said unto them, thus saith the lord god of israel, put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.
Մովսէսը նրանց ասաց. «Այսպէս է ասում Իսրայէլի Տէր Աստուածը. «Իւրաքանչիւրը իր սուրը թող կապի իր ազդրին: Բանակատեղիի մի մուտքից միւսը գնացէք-եկէք, եւ ձեզնից իւրաքանչիւրը թող սպանի իր եղբօրը, իւրաքանչիւրը՝ իր ընկերոջը, իւրաքանչիւրը՝ իր մերձաւորին»:
