இன்னும், அவர்களில் சில பிரிவினர் இன்பமனுபவிக்க நாம் கொடுத்திருக்கும் (வாழ்க்கை வசதிகளின்) பக்கம் உமது கண்களை நீட்டாதீர்; (இவையெல்லாம்) அவர்களைச் சோதிப்பதற்காகவே நாம் கொடுத்துள்ள உலக வாழ்க்கையின் அலங்காரங்களாகும். உமது இறைவன் (மறுமையில் உமக்கு) வழங்கவிருப்பது சிறந்ததும் நிலையானதும் ஆகும்.
are they so envious of others for what god has given them of his bounty? so we had given the book and the law to abraham's family, and given them great dominion.
அல்லாஹ் தன் அருளினால் மனிதர்களுக்கு வழங்கியவற்றின்மீது இவர்கள் பொறாமை கொள்கின்றார்களா? இன்னும் நாம் நிச்சயமாக இப்றாஹீமின் சந்ததியினருக்கு வேதத்தையும், ஞானத்தையும் கொடுத்தோம்;. அத்துடன் மாபெரும் அரசாங்கத்தையும் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தோம்.
[in the near future] when you will set out to capture booty, those who stayed behind [in this journey] will say, : ‘let us follow you.’ they desire to change the word of allah. say, ‘you will never follow us! allah has said thus beforehand.’ then they will say, ‘you are envious of us.’ indeed, they do not understand but a little.
போர்க்களப் பொருட்களை எடுத்துக் கொள்வதற்காக நீங்கள் சென்றீர்களாயின், (போருக்கு உம்முடன் சேர்ந்து வராமல்) பின் தங்கி விட்டவர்கள், "நாங்களும் உங்களைப் பின்பற்றிவர அனுமதி கொடுங்கள்" என்று கூறுவார்கள்; அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளையை மாற்றிவிட நாடுகிறார்கள்; "நீங்கள் எங்களைப் பின்பற்றி வரவே வேண்டாம்; இவ்வாறே அல்லாஹ் முன்னர் கூறியிருக்கின்றான்" என்று (நபியே! அவர்களிடம்) நீர் சொல்லி விடுவீராக ஆனால், அவர்கள்; "அல்ல! நீங்கள் எங்கள் மீது பொறாமை கொண்டுள்ளீர்கள்" எனக் கூறுவார்கள்; அப்படியல்ல! அவர்கள் மிக சொற்பமாகவே அன்றி (பெரும்பாலானதை) அறிந்துணராமலே இருக்கிறார்கள்.
