( ዋ ! ጥፋቴ በማለት ) ጥፋትን በእርግጥ ይጠራል ፡ ፡

as for these habitations , we destroyed them only when they transgressed ; even so we had fixed a time for their annihilation .
እነዚህ ከተሞችም በበደሉ ጊዜ አጠፋናቸው ፡ ፡ ለመጥፊያቸውም የተወሰነ ጊዜን አደረግን ፡ ፡

እናንተ ያመናችሁ ሆይ ! ከእናንተ ሌላ ምስጢረኛን አትያዙ ፡ ፡ ማበላሸትን አይገቱላችሁም ፡ ፡ ጉዳታችሁን ይወዳሉ ፡ ፡ ጥላቻይቱ ከአፎቻቸው በእርግጥ ተገለጸች ፡ ፡ ልቦቻቸውም የሚደብቁት ይበልጥ ትልቅ ነው ፡ ፡ ልብ የምታደርጉ እንደኾናችሁ ለእናንተ ማብራሪያዎችን በእርግጥ ገለጽን ፡ ፡

[ they will be told : ] ‘ do not pray for a single annihilation today , but pray for many annihilations ! ’
፡ -ዛሬ አንድን ጥፋት ብቻ አትጥሩ ብዙንም ጥፋት ጥሩ ( ይባላሉ ) ፡ ፡

and when they are cast into a narrow place in it , bound together [ in chains ] , they will pray for [ their own ] annihilation .
እጅ ከፍንጅ የታሠሩ ኾነውም ከእርሷ በጠባብ ስፍራ በተጣሉ ጊዜ በዚያ ስፍራ ጥፋትን ይጠራሉ ፤ ( ዋ ጥፋታችን ይላሉ ) ፡ ፡

and when we would destroy a township we send commandment to its folk who live at ease , and afterward they commit abomination therein , and so the word ( of doom ) hath effect for it , and we annihilate it with complete annihilation .
ከተማንም ለማጥፋት በፈለግን ጊዜ ባለ ጸጋዎችዋን እናዛለን ፡ ፡ በውስጧም ያምጻሉ ፡ ፡ በእርሷም ላይ ቃሉ ( ቅጣቱ ) ይፈጸምባታል ፡ ፡ ማጥፋትንም እናጠፋታለን ፡ ፡
