what will you do if we two go to live the holy life under the guidance of the blessed one?”
ཁོ་བོ་ཅག་གཉིས་ནི་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་སྤྱན་སྔར་ཚངས་པར་སྤྱད་པ་སྤྱོད་པར་བྱེད་ན་ཁྱེད་ཅག་ཇི་ལྟར་བྱེད།

son, if he should come here you should share your learning but you mustn’t go to him.
བུ་གལ་ཏེ་དེ་འོང་ན་ཐོས་པས་བགོ་བཤའ་བྱའི་བགྲོད་པར་ནི་མི་བྱའོ།

i go to see the gods. i go to see the nāgas, yakṣas, garuḍas, gandharvas, kiṁnaras,
ལྷ་རྣམས་བལྟ་བའི་ཕྱིར་འགྲོའོ། །ཀླུ་རྣམས་དང་། གནོད་སྦྱིན་རྣམས་དང་། ནམ་མཁའ་ལྡིང་རྣམས་དང་། དྲི་ཟ་རྣམས་དང་། མིའམ་ཅི་རྣམས་དང་།

“go to the monks, Ānanda, and tell them, ‘the tāthagata will travel the realm.
ཀུན་དགའ་བོ་སོང་ལ་དགེ་སློང་རྣམས་ལ་དགེ་སློང་དག་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་ལྷོའི་རི་བོ་དག་ཏུ་ལྗོངས་རྒྱུར་གཤེགས་ཀྱིས།

for there lives a royal priest named potalaka whose son is called kolita. i shall go to see him.”
ཅི་ཞིག་གི་ཕྱིར་བྲམ་ཟེ་མདུན་ན་འདོན་གྲུ་འཛིན་ཅེས་བགྱི་བ་ཞིག་མཆིས་པ་དེའི་བུ་བྲམ་ཟེའི་ཁྱེའུ་པང་ནས་སྐྱེས་ཞེས་བགྱི་བ་དེ་བལྟ་བའི་སླད་དུའོ། །

‘brother, i cannot be sustained by the medicinal plants in this forest. let us go to the outskirts of town.’
མིང་པོ་བདག་ནི་དགོན་པའི་སྨན་དག་གིས་འཚོ་བར་མི་ནུས་ཀྱིས་བདག་ཅག་གྲོང་མཐར་འདོང་ངོ་། །

sūkṣmā said, ‘brother, the medicinal plants in this forest do not sustain me, so it was i who suggested we go to the edge of town.
ཞིབ་མ་མོས་སྨྲས་པ། མིང་པོ་བདག་ནི་དགོན་པའི་སྨན་དག་གིས་འཚོ་བར་མི་ནུས་ཀྱིས་བདག་ཅག་གྲོང་མཐར་འདོང་ངོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་པ།

“since these ascetic sons of the Śākya have no preceptor and no instructor, they go to the houses of brahmins and householders without being well presented or well dressed,
ཤཱཀྱའི་བུའི་དགེ་སྦྱོང་འདི་དག་ནི་མཁན་པོ་མེད་པ་དང་། སློབ་དཔོན་མེད་པས་ལེགས་པར་མ་སྦྱངས་པ་དང་། ལེགས་པར་མ་བགོས་པ་དང་།

“father, i wish to visit the village of nālada, for there lives a brahmin tiṣya whose son is called upatiṣya. i shall go to see him.”
ཡབ་བདག་གྲོང་ན་ལ་དར་མཆི་འཚལ་ལོ། །ཅི་ཞིག་གི་ཕྱིར་དེ་ན་བྲམ་ཟེ་སྐར་རྒྱལ་ཞེས་བགྱི་བ་ཞིག་མཆིས་པ་དེའི་བུ་བྲམ་ཟེའི་ཁྱེའུ་ ཉེ་རྒྱལ་ཞེས་བགྱི་བ་དེ་བལྟ་བའི་སླད་དུ་མཆིའོ། །

“in that case, my sons, let us gather our funds, robes, walking staffs, ladles, funnels, and washing bowls and go to the middle country.”
བུ་དག་གལ་ཏེ་དེ་ལྟ་ན་གཡང་གཞི་དག་དང་། ཤིང་ཤུན་དག་དང་། དབྱུ་གུ་དག་དང་། བླུགས་གཟར་དག་དང་། དགང་གཟར་དག་དང་། རིལ་བ་དག་ལོང་ཤིག་དང་ཡུལ་དབུས་སུ་འདོང་ངོ་། །
