quia haec dicit dominus exercituum sicut cogitavi ut adfligerem vos cum ad iracundiam provocassent patres vestri me dicit dominu
for thus saith the lord of hosts; as i thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the lord of hosts, and i repented not:

et sicut vigilavi super eos ut evellerem et demolirer et dissiparem et disperderem et adfligerem sic vigilabo super eos ut aedificem et plantem ait dominu
and it shall come to pass, that like as i have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will i watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the lord.

et dixit dominus ad satan numquid considerasti servum meum iob quod non sit ei similis in terra vir simplex et rectus timens deum ac recedens a malo et adhuc retinens innocentiam tu autem commovisti me adversus eum ut adfligerem illum frustr
and the lord said unto satan, hast thou considered my servant job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth god, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.
