mkataba wa makubaliano

but only men of understanding heed;
wenye akili ndio wanao zingatia,

and fear me, o you of understanding.
na nicheni mimi, enyi wenye akili!

only the men of understanding are admonished

but only men of understanding will pay heed.
hakika wanao kumbuka ni watu wenye akili.

but none remember except men of understanding.

wenye akili ndio wanao zingatia,

a guide and a message to men of understanding.
ambacho ni uwongofu na ukumbusho kwa wenye akili.

and be mindful of me, o people of understanding.
na nicheni mimi, enyi wenye akili!

a guidance and a reminder to the men of understanding.
ambacho ni uwongofu na ukumbusho kwa wenye akili.

and no one will be reminded except those of understanding.
lakini hawakumbuki hayo isipo kuwa wenye akili.

only they will remember [who are] people of understanding.
hakika wanao kumbuka ni watu wenye akili.

in this there is a lesson for the people of understanding.
hakika katika hayo yapo mazingatio kwa wenye kuona.

assuredly in their stories is a lesson for men of understanding.
kwa hakika katika hadithi zao limo zingatio kwa wenye akili.

so fear allah, o you of understanding, that you may be successful.
basi mcheni mwenyezi mungu, enyi wenye akili, ili mpate kufanikiwa.

in this there is evidence of the truth for people of understanding.
hakika katika hayo zipo ishara kwa watu wenye akili.

but none remember (will receive admonition) except men of understanding.
na hawakumbuki ila wenye akili.

indeed in their stories, there is a lesson for men of understanding.
kwa hakika katika hadithi zao limo zingatio kwa wenye akili.

allah has set a seal on their hearts, leaving them bereft of understanding.
na mwenyezi mungu amewapiga muhuri juu ya nyoyo zao. kwa hivyo hawajui.
