and if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners
ከአዕጀሞች ባንዱ ላይ ባወረድነውም ኖሮ ፤

and if we had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the arabs ,
ከአዕጀሞች ባንዱ ላይ ባወረድነውም ኖሮ ፤

and if we open for them a gate in the heavens , to ascend it through the day –
በእነርሱም ላይ ከሰማይ ደጃፍን በከፈትንላቸውና በእርሱ ሲወጡ በዋሉ ኖሮ ፤

and if we had revealed it ( this quran ) unto any of the non-arabs ,
ከአዕጀሞች ባንዱ ላይ ባወረድነውም ኖሮ ፤

and if we opened upon them a door of the heaven , and they passed the day mounting thereto .
በእነርሱም ላይ ከሰማይ ደጃፍን በከፈትንላቸውና በእርሱ ሲወጡ በዋሉ ኖሮ ፤

and if we take thee away , we surely shall take vengeance on them ,
አንተንም ( ቅጣታቸውን ስታይ ) ብንወስድህ እኛ ከእነርሱ ተበቃዮች ነን ፡ ፡

and if we had pleased we would certainly have raised a warner in every town .
በሻንም ኖሮ በየከተማይቱ አስፈራሪን በላክን ነበር ፡ ፡

and if we had not strengthened you , you would have almost inclined to them a little .
ባላረጋንህም ኖሮ ወደነሱ ጥቂትን ( ዝንባሌ ) ልትዘነበል በእርግጥ በተቃረብክ ነበር ፡ ፡

and if we had not fortified you , you would have been very slightly inclining towards them ;
ባላረጋንህም ኖሮ ወደነሱ ጥቂትን ( ዝንባሌ ) ልትዘነበል በእርግጥ በተቃረብክ ነበር ፡ ፡

and if we like we drown them , whereat they have no one to call for help , nor are they rescued
ብንሻም እናሰጥማቸዋለን ፡ ፡ ለእነርሱም ረዳት የላቸውም ፡ ፡ እነርሱም የሚድዳኑ አይደሉም ፡ ፡

and if we bestow man the enjoyment of some mercy from us and later withdraw it from him ; surely he is most despairing , ungrateful .
ሰውንም ከእኛ ችሮታን ብናቀምሰው ከዚያም ከርሱ ብንወስዳት እርሱ በእርግጥ ተስፋ ቆራጭ ክህደተ ብርቱ ነው ፡ ፡

and if we have mercy upon them and remove the calamity which has befallen them , they would still stubbornly persist , wandering in their rebellion .
ባዘንንላቸውና ከጉዳትም በእነርሱ ያለውን ባነሳንላቸው ኖሮ በጥመታቸው ውስጥ የሚዋልሉ ኾነው ይዘወትሩ ነበር ፡ ፡

and if we let a man taste mercy from us , and then we wrest it from him , he is desperate , ungrateful .
ሰውንም ከእኛ ችሮታን ብናቀምሰው ከዚያም ከርሱ ብንወስዳት እርሱ በእርግጥ ተስፋ ቆራጭ ክህደተ ብርቱ ነው ፡ ፡

and if we give man a taste of mercy from us and then we withdraw it from him , indeed , he is despairing and ungrateful .
ሰውንም ከእኛ ችሮታን ብናቀምሰው ከዚያም ከርሱ ብንወስዳት እርሱ በእርግጥ ተስፋ ቆራጭ ክህደተ ብርቱ ነው ፡ ፡

and if we let him taste favour after harm hath touched him , he saith : the ills have departed from me ; verily he becometh elated , boastful .
ካገኘችውም ችግር በኋላ ጸጋዎችን ብናቀምሰው « ችግሮች ከኔ ላይ በእርግጥ ተወገዱ » ይላል ( አያመሰግንም ) ፡ ፡ እርሱ ተደሳች ጉረኛ ነውና ፡ ፡

and if we cause man to taste some mercy from us and afterward withdraw it from him , lo ! he is despairing , thankless .
ሰውንም ከእኛ ችሮታን ብናቀምሰው ከዚያም ከርሱ ብንወስዳት እርሱ በእርግጥ ተስፋ ቆራጭ ክህደተ ብርቱ ነው ፡ ፡

and if we had so willed , we could have given every soul its guidance , but the word from me concerning evildoers took effect : that i will fill hell with the jinn and mankind together .
በሻንም ኖሮ ነፍስን ሁሉ ቅንነቷን ( እምነቷን ) በሰጠናት ነበር ፡ ፡ ግን ገሀነምን ከአጋንንትና ከሰዎች የተሰበሰቡ ሆነው በእርግጥ እሞላለሁ ማለት ቃሉ ከእኔ ተረጋግጧል ፡ ፡

and if we cause him to taste grace after some misfortune that had befallen him , he saith : the ills have gone from me . lo ! he is exultant , boastful ;
ካገኘችውም ችግር በኋላ ጸጋዎችን ብናቀምሰው « ችግሮች ከኔ ላይ በእርግጥ ተወገዱ » ይላል ( አያመሰግንም ) ፡ ፡ እርሱ ተደሳች ጉረኛ ነውና ፡ ፡

and if any do evil , their faces will be thrown headlong into the fire : " do ye receive a reward other than that which ye have earned by your deeds ? "
በመጥፎም የመጡ ሰዎች ፊቶቻቸው በእሳት ውስጥ ይደፋሉ ፡ ፡ « ትሠሩት የነበራችሁትን እንጅ አትመነዱም » ( ይባላሉ ) ፡ ፡

and if we had pleased we would certainly have given to every soul its guidance , but the word ( which had gone forth ) from me was just : i will certainly fill hell with the jinn and men together .
በሻንም ኖሮ ነፍስን ሁሉ ቅንነቷን ( እምነቷን ) በሰጠናት ነበር ፡ ፡ ግን ገሀነምን ከአጋንንትና ከሰዎች የተሰበሰቡ ሆነው በእርግጥ እሞላለሁ ማለት ቃሉ ከእኔ ተረጋግጧል ፡ ፡
