why then , if ye are not in bondage ( unto us ) ,
የማትዳኙም ከኾናችሁ ፡ ፡

even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
እንዲሁ እኛ ደግሞ ሕፃናት ሆነን ሳለን ከዓለም መጀመሪያ ትምህርት በታች ተገዝተን ባሪያዎች ነበርን፤

but now, after that ye have known god, or rather are known of god, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
አሁን ግን እግዚአብሔርን ስታውቁ ይልቅስ በእግዚአብሔር ስትታወቁ እንደ ገና ወደ ደካማ ወደሚናቅም ወደ መጀመሪያ ትምህርት እንዴት ትመለሳላችሁ? እንደ ገና ባሪያዎች ሆናችሁ ዳግመኛ ለዚያ ልትገዙ ትወዳላችሁን?

allah does not take you to task for the oaths you utter vainly , but he will certainly take you to task for the oaths you have sworn in earnest . the expiation ( for breaking such oaths ) is either to feed ten needy persons with more or less the same food as you are wont to give to your families , or to clothe them , or to set free from bondage the neck of one man ; and he who does not find the means shall fast for three days .
አላህ በመሐላዎቻችሁ በውድቁ አይዛችሁም ፡ ፡ ግን መሐላዎችን ( ባሰባችሁት ) ይይዛችኋል ፡ ፡ ማስተሰሪያውም ቤተሰቦቻችሁን ከምትመግቡት ከመካከለኛው ( ምግብ ) ዐስርን ምስኪኖች ማብላት ወይም እነሱን ማልበስ ወይም ጫንቃን ነጻ ማውጣት ነው ፤ ( ከተባሉት አንዱን ) ያላገኘም ሰው ሦስት ቀኖችን መጾም ነው ፤ ይህ በማላችሁ ጊዜ የመሐላዎቻችሁ ማካካሻ ነው ፡ ፡ መሐላዎቻችሁንም ጠብቁ ፡ ፡ እንደዚሁ አላህ ለናንተ አንቀጾችን ያብራራል ፡ ፡ እናንተ ልታመሰግኑ ይከጀላልና ፡ ፡
