he said: said i not unto thee that thou wouldst by no means be able to have with me patience?
(அதற்கு அவர்) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் என்னுடன் பொறுமையாக இருக்க இயலாது என்று உமக்கு நாம் சொல்லவில்லையா?" என்று கூறினார்.

and there shall go round unto them youths ever-young. when thou seest them thou wouldst deem them pearls unstrung.
இன்னும், (அந்த சுவர்க்கவாசிகளைச்) சுற்றி எப்போதும் (இளமையோடு) இருக்கும் சிறுவர்கள் (சேவை செய்து) வருவார்கள்; அவர்களை நீர் காண்பீரானால் சிதறிய முத்துகளெனவே அவர்களை நீர் எண்ணுவீர்.

and if we willed we could withdraw that which we have revealed unto thee, then wouldst thou find no guardian for thee against us in respect thereof.
(நபியே!) நாம் நாடினால் உமக்கு நாம் வஹீயாக நாம் அறிவித்ததை (குர்ஆனை) போக்கிவிடுவோம்; பின்னர், நமக்கெதிராக உமக்குப் பொறுப்பேற்கக் கூடிய எவரையும் நீர் காணமாட்டீர்.

thou wouldst only, perchance, fret thyself to death, following after them, in grief, if they believe not in this message.
(நபியே!) இந்த (வேத) அறிவிப்பில் அவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாவிட்டால், அவர்களுக்காக வியாகூலப்பட்டு, நீர் உம்மையே அழித்துக் கொள்வீர்கள் போலும்!

in that case we would have surely made thee taste the double of the tornment of the life and the double of the torment of death, and then thou wouldst not find against us a helper.
(அவ்வாறு நீர் சாய்ந்திருந்தால்) நீர் இவ்வாழ்நாளில் இரு மடங்கு (வேதனையும்,) மரணத்தில் இரு மடங்கு (வேதனையு)ம் நுகருமாறு நாம் செய்திருப்போம்; பின்பு, நமக்கு எதிராக உமக்கு உதவியாளர் எவரையும் நீர் காணமாட்டீர்.

if it were our will, we could take away that which we have sent thee by inspiration: then wouldst thou find none to plead thy affair in that matter as against us,-
(நபியே!) நாம் நாடினால் உமக்கு நாம் வஹீயாக நாம் அறிவித்ததை (குர்ஆனை) போக்கிவிடுவோம்; பின்னர், நமக்கெதிராக உமக்குப் பொறுப்பேற்கக் கூடிய எவரையும் நீர் காணமாட்டீர்.

and if thy lord had willed, whoever is in the earth would have believed, all of them, all together. wouldst thou then constrain the people, until they are believers?
மேலும், உம் இறைவன் நாடியிருந்தால், பூமியிலுள்ள யாவருமே ஈமான் கொண்டிருப்பார்கள்; எனவே, மனிதர்கள் யாவரும் முஃமின்களாக (நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோராக) ஆகிவிடவேண்டுமென்று அவர்களை நீர் கட்டாயப்படுத்த முடியுமா?

and round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): if thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered pearls.

and spend of that wherewith we have provided you before death cometh unto one of you and he saith: my lord! if only thou wouldst reprieve me for a little while, then i would give alms and be among the righteous.
உங்களில் ஒருவருக்கு மரணம் வருமுன்னரே, நாம் உங்களுக்கு அளித்த பொருளிலிருந்து, தான தர்மம் செய்து கொள்ளுங்கள், (அவ்வாறு செய்யாது மரணிக்கும் சமயம்); "என் இறைவனே! என் தவணையை எனக்கு சிறிது பிற்படுத்தக் கூடாதா? அப்படியாயின் நானும் தான தர்மம் செய்து ஸாலிஹான (நல்ல)வர்களில் ஒருவனாக ஆகிவிடுவேனே" என்று கூறுவான்.
