כי אזן מלין תבחן וחך יטעם לאכל׃
for the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.

כל חיתו שדי אתיו לאכל כל חיתו ביער׃

דור חרבות שניו ומאכלות מתלעתיו לאכל עניים מארץ ואביונים מאדם׃
there is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

ויישם לפניו לאכל ויאמר לא אכל עד אם דברתי דברי ויאמר דבר׃
and there was set meat before him to eat: but he said, i will not eat, until i have told mine errand. and he said, speak on.

והנתן זרע לזרע ולחם לאכל יתן וירבה את זרעכם ויפריא תנובות צדקתכם׃
now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
