Յովսէփը օրապահիկ էր տալիս իր հօրն ու եղբայրներին, իսկ իր հօր ընտանիքի բոլոր անդամներին՝ ցորեն ըստ շնչի:

Այնպէս պատահեց, որ մի օր Յովսէփը իր ինչ-որ գործով տուն մտաւ: Ընտանիքի անդամներից ոչ ոք չկար տանը:
and it came to pass about this time, that joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.

Երիտասարդը չյապաղեց անել այդ բանը, որովհետեւ շատ էր սիրում Յակոբի դստերը: Նա իր հօր ընտանիքի անդամների մէջ ամենից աւելի յարգանք էր վայելում:
and the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in jacob's daughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his father.

Յովսէփի ամբողջ ընտանիքը, նրա եղբայրները, նրա հօր ընտանիքի բոլոր անդամները: Իսկ մերձաւորներին, ոչխարներին ու արջառներին թողեցին Գեսեմ երկրում:
and all the house of joseph, and his brethren, and his father's house: only their little ones, and their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of goshen.

Եթէ մի ընտանիքի անդամները այնքան քիչ են, որ չեն կարող մէկ ոչխար ուտել, ապա ընտանիքի մեծը, ըստ ընտանիքի թուի թող միանայ իր հարեւանի կամ ընկերոջ հետ, եւ իւրաքանչիւրը թող ստանայ ոչխարի համապատասխան բաժինը:
and if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
