እንደ ሌሊት ጨለማም ኾና አነጋች ፤ ( ከሰለች ) ፡ ፡

when the mountains vanish ( like a mirage ) ;
ተራራዎችም በተነዱ ጊዜ ፤

and our command is but one , like a glance of the eye .
ትእዛዛችንም እንደ ዓይን ቅጽበት አንዲት ( ቃል ) እንጅ ሌላ አይደለም ፡ ፡

and we shall drive the sinful like a thirsty herd into hell .
ከሓዲዎችንም የተጠሙ ኾነው ወደ ገሀነም የምንነዳበትን ( ቀን አስታውስ ) ፡ ፡

also , his are the ships that run , raised up like mountains upon the sea .
እንደ ጋራዎች ኾነው በባሕር ውስጥ የተሠሩት ተንሻለዮቹም ( ታንኳዎች ) የእርሱ ናቸው ፡ ፡

and straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the spirit like a dove descending upon him:
ወዲያውም ከውኃው በወጣ ጊዜ ሰማያት ሲቀደዱ መንፈስም እንደ ርግብ ሲወርድበት አየና። የምወድህ ልጄ አንተ ነህ፥

how we ordained the moon to pass through certain phases until it seems eventually to be like a bent twig ;
ጨረቃንም የመስፈሪያዎች ባለቤት ሲኾን እንደ ዘንባባ አሮጌ ቀንዘል እስኪኾን ድረስ ( መኼዱን ) ለካነው ፡ ፡

an evil act is like a rotten tree torn out of the earth with no ( base or ) firmness .
የመጥፎም ቃል ምሳሌ ከምድር በላይ የተጎለሰሰች ለእርሷ ምንም መደላደል የሌላት እንደኾነች መጥፎ ዛፍ ነው ፡ ፡

love is like a bicycle left out in the storm it is not protected rest begins to form
english ግጥም በታጋሎግ ተተርጉሟል

and the example of a bad saying is like a filthy tree , which is cut off above the ground , therefore not having stability .
የመጥፎም ቃል ምሳሌ ከምድር በላይ የተጎለሰሰች ለእርሷ ምንም መደላደል የሌላት እንደኾነች መጥፎ ዛፍ ነው ፡ ፡

but when he saw it moving like a snake , he turned and fled . " moses , do not be afraid !
« በትርህንም ጣል » ( ተባለ ጣለም ) ፡ ፡ እርሷ እንደ ትንሽ እባብ በፍጥነት ስትስለከለክ ባያትም ጊዜ ፤ ወደ ኋላ ዞሮ ሸሸ ፡ ፡ አልተመለሰምም ፡ ፡ « ሙሳ ሆይ ! አትፈራ ፤ እኔ መልክተኞቹ እኔ ዘንድ አይፈሩምና ፡ ፡

a group of the unbelievers among his people said , " you look to us like a fool and we think that you are a liar " .
ከሕዝቦቹ እነዚያ የካዱት መሪዎች « እኛ በሞኝነት ላይ ኾነህ በእርግጥ እናይሃለን ፡ ፡ እኛም ከውሸተኞቹ ነህ ብለን እንጠረጥርሃለን » አሉት ፡ ፡

as for the unbelievers , their works are like a mirage in the wilderness . the thirsty person thinks it is water , but when he comes near he finds that it is nothing .
እነዚያም የካዱት ሰዎች ሥራዎቻቸው ( መልካሞቹ ) በበረሃ ሜዳ እንዳለ ሲሪብዱ የጠማው ሰው ውሃ ነው ብሎ እንደሚያስበው በመጣውም ጊዜ ምንም ነገር ኾኖ እንደማያገኘው ነው ፡ ፡ ( ከሓዲው ) አላህንም እሠራው ዘንድ ያገኘዋል ፡ ፡ ምርመራውንም ( ቅጣቱን ) ይሞላለታል ፡ ፡ አላህም ምርመራው ፈጣን ነው ፡ ፡

have you not considered how allah sets forth a parable of a good word ( being ) like a good tree , whose root is firm and whose branches are in heaven ,
አላህ መልካምን ቃል ሥርዋ ( በምድር ውስጥ ) የተደላደለች ቅርንጫፍዋም ወደ ሰማይ ( የረዘመች ) እንደሆነች መልካም ዛፍ አድርጎ ምሳሌን እንዴት እንደገለጸ አላየኽምን

as for those who deny the truth , their works are like a mirage in a desert . the thirsty traveller thinks it to be water , but when he comes near , he finds it to be nothing .
እነዚያም የካዱት ሰዎች ሥራዎቻቸው ( መልካሞቹ ) በበረሃ ሜዳ እንዳለ ሲሪብዱ የጠማው ሰው ውሃ ነው ብሎ እንደሚያስበው በመጣውም ጊዜ ምንም ነገር ኾኖ እንደማያገኘው ነው ፡ ፡ ( ከሓዲው ) አላህንም እሠራው ዘንድ ያገኘዋል ፡ ፡ ምርመራውንም ( ቅጣቱን ) ይሞላለታል ፡ ፡ አላህም ምርመራው ፈጣን ነው ፡ ፡
