we created man out of the extract of clay ,
በእርግጥም ሰውን ከነጠረ ጭቃ ፈጠርነው ፡ ፡

and if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners
ከአዕጀሞች ባንዱ ላይ ባወረድነውም ኖሮ ፤

we cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick .
እርሱ በሽተኛ ሆኖ በቃይ በሌለው ( በባሕር ) ዳርቻ ላይ ጣልነውም ፡ ፡

" if we had had with us a book like that of the people of old ,
« ከቀድሞዎቹ ( መጻሕፍት ) ገሳጭ መጽሐፍ እኛ ዘንድ በነበረን ኖሮ ፤

then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
ከከተማ ወጥተው ወደ እርሱ ይመጡ ነበር።

and god caused you to grow out of the earth ,
አላህም ከምድር ማብቀልን አበቀላችሁ ፡ ፡

" if we had a message from [ those of ] the former peoples ,
« ከቀድሞዎቹ ( መጻሕፍት ) ገሳጭ መጽሐፍ እኛ ዘንድ በነበረን ኖሮ ፤

and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading
ከአረገዙት ደመናዎችም ተንቧቢ ውሃን አወረድን ፡ ፡

" indeed are we shut out ( of the fruits of our labour ) "
« በእርግጥም እኛ ( ከመጠቀም ) የተከለከልን ነን » ( ትሉ ነበር ) ፡ ፡

and if we opened upon them a door of the heaven , and they passed the day mounting thereto .
በእነርሱም ላይ ከሰማይ ደጃፍን በከፈትንላቸውና በእርሱ ሲወጡ በዋሉ ኖሮ ፤

" indeed we are shut out ( of the fruits of our labour ) ! "
« ይልቁንም እኛ የተከለከልን ነን » አሉ ፡ ፡

and if we please we would certainly put out their eyes , then they would run about groping for the way , but how should they see ?
ብንሻም ኖሮ በዐይኖቻቸው ላይ በአበስን ነበር ፡ ፡ መንገድንም ( እንደ ልመዳቸው ) በተሽቀዳደሙ ነበር ፡ ፡ እንዴትም ያያሉ ?

and allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth :
አላህም ከምድር ማብቀልን አበቀላችሁ ፡ ፡

then if we only had a return [ to the world ] and could be of the believers ... "
ለእኛም አንዲት ጊዜ መመለስ በኖረችንና ከአማኞቹ በኾን እንመኛለን ( ይላሉ ) ፡ ፡

and thus we expound revelations so that the way of the culprits may be shown up .
እንደዚሁም ( እውነቱ እንዲገለጽና ) የወንጀለኞችም መንገድ ትብራራ ዘንድ አንቀጾችን እንገልጻለን ፡ ፡

and thus do we make distinct the communications and so that the way of the guilty may become clear .
እንደዚሁም ( እውነቱ እንዲገለጽና ) የወንጀለኞችም መንገድ ትብራራ ዘንድ አንቀጾችን እንገልጻለን ፡ ፡

and this is how we explain our verses clearly and so that the way of the criminals become well exposed .
እንደዚሁም ( እውነቱ እንዲገለጽና ) የወንጀለኞችም መንገድ ትብራራ ዘንድ አንቀጾችን እንገልጻለን ፡ ፡

and thus do we detail the verses , and [ thus ] the way of the criminals will become evident .
እንደዚሁም ( እውነቱ እንዲገለጽና ) የወንጀለኞችም መንገድ ትብራራ ዘንድ አንቀጾችን እንገልጻለን ፡ ፡

they do not believe in it , though the ways of the ancients have passed away .
በእርሱ አያምኑበትም ፡ ፡ የቀድሞዎቹም ድርጊት በእርግጥ አልፋለች ፤ ( እንደጠፉ ይጠፋሉ ) ፡ ፡

( a penalty ) from allah , lord of the ways of ascent .
የ ( ሰማያት ) መሰላሎች ባለቤት ከኾነው አላህ ( መላሽ የለውም ) ፡ ፡
