each soul is held in pledge for what it earns ,
ነፍስ ሁሉ በሠራችው ሥራ ተያዥ ናት ፡ ፡

every soul is a pledge for its own deeds ;
ነፍስ ሁሉ በሠራችው ሥራ ተያዥ ናት ፡ ፡

every soul is held in pledge for what it earns ,
ነፍስ ሁሉ በሠራችው ሥራ ተያዥ ናት ፡ ፡

every person is a pledge for what he has earned ,
ነፍስ ሁሉ በሠራችው ሥራ ተያዥ ናት ፡ ፡

and who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant ,
እነዚያም እነርሱ ለአደራዎቻቸውና ለቃል ኪዳናቸው ጠባቂዎች ፡ ፡

every soul will be ( held ) in pledge for its deeds .
ነፍስ ሁሉ በሠራችው ሥራ ተያዥ ናት ፡ ፡

every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned ,
ነፍስ ሁሉ በሠራችው ሥራ ተያዥ ናት ፡ ፡

but when we removed from them the chastisement , lo ! they broke the pledge .
ስቃዩን ከእነርሱ ላይ በገለጥንም ጊዜ ወዲያውኑ ኪዳናቸውን ያፈርሳሉ ፡ ፡

yet no sooner did we take away the affliction from them than they broke their pledge .
ስቃዩን ከእነርሱ ላይ በገለጥንም ጊዜ ወዲያውኑ ኪዳናቸውን ያፈርሳሉ ፡ ፡

has he looked to the unseen , or has he made a pledge to the merciful one ?
ሩቁን ምስጢር ዐወቀን ወይስ አልረሕማን ዘንድ ቃል ኪዳንን ያዘ

but when we lifted the punishment from them , behold , they would break their pledge .
ስቃዩን ከእነርሱ ላይ በገለጥንም ጊዜ ወዲያውኑ ኪዳናቸውን ያፈርሳሉ ፡ ፡

and every time they made a pledge some of them pushed it aside , and many of them do not believe .
ቃል ኪዳንንም ቃል በገቡ ቁጥር ከእነርሱ ከፊሉ ይጥለዋልን ? ( ያፈርሰዋልን ? ) ፤ ይልቁንም አብዛኞቻቸው አያምኑም ፡ ፡

— those who fulfill allah s covenant ’ and do not break the pledge solemnly made ,
እነዚያ በአላህ ቃል ኪዳን የሚሞሉ የጠበቀውንም ኪዳን የማያፈርሱ ናቸው ፡ ፡

how can you take it when you have been intimate with one another , and she has taken a solemn pledge from you ?
ከፊላችሁ ወደ ከፊሉ በእርግጥ የደረሰ ሲኾንና ከእናንተ ላይም ( ሴቶች ) የጠበቀ ኪዳንን የያዙባችሁ ሲኾኑ እንዴት ትወስዱታላችሁ !

and whatever you spend or pledge to do , allah is aware of it ; and the unjust do not have supporters .
ከምጽዋትም ማንኛውንም የለገሳችሁትን ወይም ከስለት የተሳላችሁትን አላህ ያውቀዋል ፡ ፡ ለበዳዮችም ከረዳቶች ምንም የላቸውም ፡ ፡

and how will you take it back whereas you have become unveiled before each other , and they have taken a strong pledge from you ?
ከፊላችሁ ወደ ከፊሉ በእርግጥ የደረሰ ሲኾንና ከእናንተ ላይም ( ሴቶች ) የጠበቀ ኪዳንን የያዙባችሁ ሲኾኑ እንዴት ትወስዱታላችሁ !

although they had made a pledged to god , in the past , that they will not turn their backs . a pledge to god is a responsibility .
ጀርባዎችንም ላያዞሩ ከዚያ በፊት በእርግጥ አላህን ቃል ኪዳን የተጋቡ ነበሩ ፡ ፡ የአላህም ቃል ኪዳን የሚጠየቁበት ነው ፡ ፡

pledge obedience to your lord before the coming of the inevitable day when you will find no refuge to escape from god 's wrath and no one to defend you .
ለእርሱ መመለስ የሌለው ቀን ከአላህ ከመምጣቱ በፊት ለጌታችሁ ታዘዙ ፡ ፡ በዚያ ቀን ለእናንተ ምንም መጠጊያ የላችሁም ፡ ፡ ለእናንተም ምንም መካድ የላችሁም ፡ ፡

" then surely god will not withdraw his pledge . or do you impute things to god of which you have no knowledge at all ? "
« እሳትም የተቆጠሩን ቀኖች እንጂ አትነካንም » አሉ ፡ ፡ « አላህ ዘንድ ቃል ኪዳን ይዛችኋልን ? ( ይህ ከኾነ ) አላህም ኪዳኑን አያፈርስም ፤ በእውነቱ በአላህ ላይ የማታውቁትን ትናገራላችሁ » በላቸው ፡ ፡

for each we have appointed heirs to what parents and relatives leave behind . and to those you have given your pledge in marriage give their share , for god is witness to everything .
ለሁሉም ( ለወንዶችና ለሴቶች ) ወላጆችና የቅርብ ዘመዶች ከተዉት ሀብት ጠቅላይ ወራሾችን አድርገናል ፡ ፡ እነዚያንም ( ለመረዳዳትና ለመዋረስ ) በመሐላዎቻችሁ የተዋዋላችኋቸውን ድርሻቸውን ( ከስድስት አንድ ) ስጧቸው ፡ ፡ አላህ በነገሩ ሁሉ ዐዋቂ ነው ፡ ፡
