so shall we glorify thee ,
« በብዙ እናጠራህ ዘንድ ፡ ፡

they said : surely to our lord shall we go back :
አሉ ፡ - « እኛ ወደ ጌታችን ተመላሾች ነን ፡ ፡ »

they say : " shall we go back to our original state
« እኛ ወደ መጀመሪያይቱ ኹነታ ተመላሾች ነን ? » ይላሉ ፡ ፡

as such shall we deal with the sinners .
በአመጸኞች ሁሉ እንደዚሁ እንሠራለን ፡ ፡

soon shall we brand him on his snout .
በአፍንጫው ላይ በእርግጥ ( የሚነወርበት ) ምልክት እናደርግበታለን ፡ ፡

shall we treat the muslims like criminals ?
ሙስሊሞቹን እንደ ከሓዲዎች እናደርጋለን ?

and they will say , ' shall we be respited ? '
( በመጣባቸው ጊዜ ) « እኛ የምንቆይ ነን » እስከሚሉም ( አያምኑም ) ፡ ፡

and then they will say : ' shall we be respited '
( በመጣባቸው ጊዜ ) « እኛ የምንቆይ ነን » እስከሚሉም ( አያምኑም ) ፡ ፡

so shall we make later ( generations ) follow them .
ከዚያም የኋለኞቹን እናስከትላቸዋለን ፡ ፡

nor shall we withhold it except till an appointed term .
( ይህንን ቀን ) ለተቆጠረም ጊዜ እንጂ አናቆየውም ፡ ፡

and said : shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet ?
እኛ ለዕብድ ባለቅኔ ብለን አማልክቶቻችንን የምንተው ነን ? ይሉም ነበር ፡ ፡

soon shall we settle your affairs , o both ye worlds !
እናንተ ሁለት ከባዶች ( ሰዎችና ጋኔኖች ) ሆይ ! ለእናንተ ( መቆጣጠር ) በእርግጥ እናስባለን ፡ ፡

except our first death , and shall we not be punished '
« የመጀመሪያይቱ መሞታችን ብቻ ስትቀር ፡ ፡ እኛም የምንቅቀጣ አይደለንምን ? » ( ይላሉ ) ፡ ፡

shall we utterly ignore you because ye are a wanton folk ?
ድንበር አላፊዎች ሕዝቦች ለመኾናችሁ ቁርኣኑን ከእናንተ ማገድን እናግዳለን ?

they say : shall we indeed be restored to the first state ,
« እኛ ወደ መጀመሪያይቱ ኹነታ ተመላሾች ነን ? » ይላሉ ፡ ፡

thereupon they will say , ‘ shall we be granted any respite ? ’
( በመጣባቸው ጊዜ ) « እኛ የምንቆይ ነን » እስከሚሉም ( አያምኑም ) ፡ ፡

' when we are dead and become dust and bones shall we be resurrected ?
« በሞትንና ዐፈርና አጥንቶች በኾን ጊዜ እኛ ተቀስቃሾች ነን » አሉ ፡ ፡

saying , ' what , shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed ? '
እኛ ለዕብድ ባለቅኔ ብለን አማልክቶቻችንን የምንተው ነን ? ይሉም ነበር ፡ ፡

shall we hold back the reminder from you , since you are a transgressing people ?
ድንበር አላፊዎች ሕዝቦች ለመኾናችሁ ቁርኣኑን ከእናንተ ማገድን እናግዳለን ?

shall we be recompensed for our deeds after we die and become bones and dust ?
« በሞትንና ዐፈር አጥንቶችም በሆን ጊዜ እኛ በእርግጥ እንመረመራለን ? » ( የሚል ) ፡ ፡
