ነፍሱ በሰላም ታርፍ

no soul will deny its coming .
ለመውደቋ አስተባባይ ( ነፍስ ) የለችም ፡ ፡

may their soul rest in peace

and a soul and him who perfected it
በነፍስም ባስተካከላትም ፤

and i swear by the blaming soul .

and the soul and him who made it perfect ,
በነፍስም ባስተካከላትም ፤

and i call the reprehensive soul to witness :
( ራሷን ) ወቃሽ በኾነች ነፍስም እምላለሁ ፡ ፡ ( በእርግጥ ትቀሰቀሳላችሁ ) ፡ ፡

and i swear by the self-reproaching soul .
( ራሷን ) ወቃሽ በኾነች ነፍስም እምላለሁ ፡ ፡ ( በእርግጥ ትቀሰቀሳላችሁ ) ፡ ፡

and i swear by the self-critical soul !
( ራሷን ) ወቃሽ በኾነች ነፍስም እምላለሁ ፡ ፡ ( በእርግጥ ትቀሰቀሳላችሁ ) ፡ ፡

but , when ( the soul ) reaches the collar bone
ንቁ ( ነፍስ ) ብሪዎችን በደረሰች ጊዜ ፤

and the angels say , " who will take away his soul ,
« አሻሪው ማነው ? » በተባለም ጊዜ ፡ ፡

and nay , i swear by the self-reproaching soul !
( ራሷን ) ወቃሽ በኾነች ነፍስም እምላለሁ ፡ ፡ ( በእርግጥ ትቀሰቀሳላችሁ ) ፡ ፡

( then ) shall each soul know what it has put forward .
ነፍስ ሁሉ ( ከሥራ ) ያቀረበችውን ታውቃለች ፤

then will no ( soul ) entertain falsehood concerning its coming .
