ለሙሳም መጽሐፍን በእርግጥ ሰጠነው ፡ ፡ በእርሱም ተለያዩበት ፡ ፡ ከጌታህም ያለፈች ቃል ባልነበረች ኖሮ በመካከላቸው ( አሁን ) ይፈረድ ነበር ፡ ፡ እነሱም ከእርሱ ( ከቁርኣን ) አወላዋይ በሆነ መጠራጠር ውስጥ ናቸው ፡ ፡

till , when he reached the setting-place of the sun , he found it setting in a muddy spring , and found a people thereabout . we said : o dhu 'l-qarneyn !
ወደ ፀሐይ መግቢያም በደረሰ ጊዜ ጥቁር ጭቃ ባላት ምንጭ ውስጥ ስትጠልቅ አገኛት ፡ ፡ ባጠገቧም ሕዝቦችን አገኘ ፡ ፡ « ዙልቀርነይን ሆይ ! ወይም ( በመግደል ) ትቀጣለህ ወይም በእነርሱ መልካም ነገርን ( መማረክን ) ትሠራለህ » አልነው ፡ ፤
